Room booked, registration mailed. Pens getting in shape for sales, extra repair supplies in hand or ordered. I guess I'm about ready for Dallas! Yeehaw!

Regards,

danny

Hi, Danny!

Do we have to register before the show? This is my first time and I am under the impression that all I have to do is show up.

Thank you!

Good idea. I'll email Lisa today. I want some IG Blue #2 and IG Blue-Black.

Another item: I ordered some clip-on name tags from Amazon--wanted something to write my FPN name on. Had to buy a whole box, of course, so I'll bring them to the show if anyone else wants one.

Your bag of ink is being boxed for Dallas right now! We are starting to pick and pack today. I find myself calling people by their FPN/ instagram/ twitter names even after I meet them.

Thanks Travberg! Tell your friend thank you as well. I will be at the Salamander Pen Company booth.

Will you be at the same table location as last year?

OK! It's the week before the Pen Show so I can officially break radio silence...

Actually I've just been so darned busy with work the Pen Show didn't hit my radar until TxKat texted me today.

Kat, I plan to be there much of the day Friday, but have a hunting date for Saturday. I have a Pen Show newbie friend that will be attending on Friday afternoon as well. I look forward to seeing everyone again this year. My wish list is non-specific this year, pretty much want to see anything and EVERYTHING!

See you there - Clayton

Thanks. That will be very helpful.

Looking forward to this, my second DPS. May have a new convert attend, too.

I can't wait...... bags are packed and ready. LOL. The Houston area Lone Star Pen Club will be there with a Welcome table for those that are from the Houston Metro area and don't know about us. Find us and pick up a flyer. Have questions about our club, stop by. I do agree with everyone, that I always come home with more than I wanted or thought that I wanted. Its a great show and a great time.

John, will look for your table,,,from North Woodlands have always wanted to meet some of you from the Lonestar Pen Club

LuMA, I like your idea. Last year it was hit and miss, but mostly miss!!!

It will depend on who is attending on what day. SC and I will be there both days (the usual), but many only come for a brief time. And there are also others here that don't want their identity know, muahahaha!

I missed meeting everyone last year. I will be there only Thrusday night and friday day. Anyone for meeting up Thrusday night at some point?

I will be driving in after work on Thurdsay but I dont expect to do much more than crash. Will be heading back out sometime on Sunday. I will be the one with the orange pen show bag from the 2012 Atlanta Pen Show.

That would be welcome. I'm also plan on printing my avatar on sticker paper, so I can apply it to the badge, if possible. Since this will be my first pen show, I have no idea if it will be.

This will be my first pen show and I am really looking forward to it! I have cleared my work calendar (at least it appears to be so at the moment), coordinated my travel plans with the friend (and co-enabler) who is coming along (his first pen show, too) and made a tentative hunting list. Now to set a reasonable budget and a point beyond which I can not go even if I find my dream pens!

Another Dallas guy anticipating his first Pen Show.
Also new to the Fountain Pen hobby, well... I can still call it curiosity, but deep down I think I already known that I am doomed (and so does my wallet).

Just curious, if FPN members are not the majority of the people attending, who are the majority then?

This day and age, It's hard to imagine having a hobby like FP and not belonging to some online communities.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
