anyways it has been confirmed....

but still blue o blue is not completely opaque it has some transparency to it and you get an idea of ink level.

from the pics the burnt orange looks opaque.... guess we would have to wait and watch....

also I have no idea why all the companies are going after this combination ....

when I see this combination mb Hemmingway comes to mind.

You're correct, the burnt orange Sailor is opaque

Until this one, I haven't found a Pelikan that interested me. I like this one. I'm not gonna preorder it but I will ask Santa for it.

The orange Sailor may be opaque, but it has the clear ink view window. I guess many like that feature. Some do not. Me? I like the concept but find what appears in the window does not always accurately portray how much ink remains in the pen. I have insufficient data to describe predictable differences pen to pen or ink to ink.

Marco,

My pen arrived here in the UK today with grateful thanks for great service and communication.

The Italic nib, like your service, is awesome!

Best regards,

My M800 Burnt Orange fountain pen was delivered this afternoon. Roma, It to Fresno, CA, USA in one week.

My first impression was surprise that the barrel color was lighter than I expected from the photos I have seen. Fortunately, I like what I got better than what I expected. I ordered mine with a B nib, expecting that I will have it ground to cursive italic. In the meantime, I swapped in an already custom ground M800 B nib and loaded Sailor Bung Box Mocha ink. I love the way it writes.

I expect to use this one a lot. (Even after Halloween.)

Been mulling the Burnt Orange SE for a while but finally decided to 'go for it'..... I am delighted I did. Prior to its arrival I had not seen or had hands on this Edition and, like David above, I was expcting a darker barrel colour but I really like what's arrived.

Over the years I have acquired several M800s but this one has delighted me enough to earn a special place in the flock. As I have a couple of B nibs, a Stub [by Oxonian] and an 1.5 Italic I went for a M .... it performed as expected out of the box - smooth, good flow and a line width nearer a Japaneese B, perfect for me!....

Normally I do not give too much thought to matching pen to the ink colour but for its first fill I reached out for Fuyu-gaki. So far this has been a good match up and fun..... What are others using?

Regards, Falcon

I received mine from Iguana Sell about 12 days ago. I had also ordered a matching ballpoint and got an email from them saying Pelican had decided not to produce the ballpoint, and got a quick refund which was good.

I got to looking this week and ordered a ballpoint from Fahrneys and it shipped yesterday.

I wonder what is going on with the ballpoints?

Regards

Jeff

#72 - Jeffrey's photos portray the color quite accurately, to my eye.

I was looking around yesterday, with no intention of buying anything, and found that La Couronne du Comte has a fantastic sale on the M80x and they have the italic broad nib at no additional cost. Then, I was about to pay for a green striped one when my wife asked me why I wasn't getting the Burnt Orange (not on sale, but still a great price after a coupon). So, now I have a burnt orange IB on its way to me. Ah, the wait is the worst part.

got mine from novelli in italy for about $399 shipped to california. am not sure if prices have gone up since then.

The M800 Burnt Orange is now listed on Massdrop for $470 (only 15 pens available) which seems like a good deal.
