And you change the cap to old style cap? ;p

That does not look like the captop on my pen. Look back to post #20 at the profile of the captop, that is what mine is like. Exactly like most of the current production Souvern pens.

That's the captop on my pen... Didn't yours come that way ?

I havent gotten mine yet. But Jeff is right.

Btw, the old style captop should come with double capring instead of one.

FPH says sold out now...

Sad news for my heart. But good news for my wallet....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Hmmm...

I'll have to think about this...

Good thing that it's a "user pen", and not a collectible for me, eh ? :eureka:

All these gorgeous pictures are making me seriously regret not ordering one! Maybe one will pop up sometime. Enjoy your new birds everyone!

Ordered mine from the airport on my business trip. Just came back to my office today to find this beauty delivered.

Quick cell phone snap doesn't do justice but...

The three-dimensional-ness of the material is really hard to capture in photos so I recorded a quick video (sorry about the background noise of my office)

The blue bits are fantastic. I have J. Herbin Terre de Feu in there right now but I could imagine putting some nice deep blue ink in there next.

Making this a little more versatile pen than most. I realize any ink can go in any pen, howver like many people I have a slight tendency to use an ink which is somewhere in the same neighorhood on the color wheel as the pen body, .... usually. With this pen I tend to favor the browns, or perhaps Diamine Ancient Copper, however the blue in the acrilyc is very brillliant so somethng like Diamine Asa Blue might not seem entirelly out of the question.

Finally received the M201 with italic nib in the mail.

Agrees with all the positive reviews in thread. The colours in the binde is mesmerizing, and it's translucent to boot.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
