Shawn, the pen you modified for me is even more beautiful in person! I LOVE it! Thanks! I may have to get rid of all my other pens, I can't imagine writing with anything else since I got this pen!

Well, where are the pictures???? Please?

Oh my, do I love that blue lizard! I have an M1000 that would look great dressed like that, though I really prefer the 800 size.

The lizard I have isn't big enough to work with the 1000. Only 800 and smaller. I have blue and gray for 800 and smaller size pens, and green for 200 size pens. :)

  • 1 month later...

I just received back a black M800 for which Shawn made a new binde. The material I chose is called "Night Jewels." It is even more stunning than I can show in photos. Note that I had Shawn keep the green ink view window.

The pen is fitted with a BB nib Michael Masuyama ground to a very crisp cursive italic for me. I am loving this pen!

Lovely pen David. Nice choice of material and especially nib.

Thanks, zaddick!

Wow! What a beauty! That is just gorgeous!

I have an M800 BB nib that I am going to get ground to an architect point. As soon as I find an appropriately priced 800 donor pen, it will get one of Shawn's blue lizard bindes, and no doubt with that nib will be one of my very favorites.

I just ordered a black M600 at a very good price with plans to have Shawn make a binde for it. The M800 is gorgeous, I agree, but the M600 is a better size for a EDC for me.

That is truly gorgeous! Wonderful work... I'd love to know the material as well, and what sizes you can do in it?

I don't have any more of this brown celluloid. But I think the name is brown and black celluloid. :)

I can put bindes on all of the modern Pelikan line if you want it done to one of your pens. I won't touch the vintage models - the barrel is too thin by the threads.

Finally have a M1000 that I need to get to you to modify! I'll have to decide on a material for the binde though.

By the way my Blue Lizard M800 was used to fill out my Marriage certificate last weekend! That makes it even more special!

It'll have to be an ebonite or acrylic. I'm using the last of my big celluloid for some m1000 pens this weekend.

Here's one in acrylic. This is a really opaque material so works really well for this, and has a nice depth to it.

It's a madrapearlato acrylic from exotic blanks.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
