Nice... Not a fan of Apache Sunset, myself, but I can't argue with the results! I am a fan of the Vac 700 with the stub, though. Mine is inked with Sailor Jentle Oku-Yama at the moment.

Current Daily Carry: Pilot Custom 743 with 14k Posting nib (Sailor Kiwa-Guro), Sailor 1911L Realo Champagne with 21k Extra Fine nib (Sailor Tokiwa-Matsu). Platinum Century 3776 Bourgogne (Diamine Syrah), Nakaya Portable Writer Midori with 14k Extra Extra Fine nib (Lamy Peridot), Pilot Vanishing Point Stealth Black with Extra Fine nib unit (Pilot Blue Black), a dozen Nockco DotDash index cards of various sizes and a Traveler's Notebook.

Nice pen and ink, and great lyrics too.

I like my Vac 700. It doesn't get much pocket time, though.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

It's a great pen!

After several years of ownership, this week I discovered that I can trade the default TWSBI nib for the Goulet nibs. It opened up a lot of possibility with this pen.

Let me know how you go with that - I thought I read somewhere that slight differences in the curvature of the Vac 700 nib made this a little more difficult than you'd expect - though that may have been a problem with the Micarta...?

At the recent Triangle Pen Show I purchased my second vacuum-fill Sheaffer and I'm now a big fan of the huge ink reservoir. I'm thinking the Vac 700 will be my next pen purchase. I won't mind the twist, and would like to have the "safety" feature. And for what a reasonable price, too.

I've only been using the 1.1mm stub nib, but without any problems. I hope I haven't broken something. Maybe I should have researched this before I tried it...

No, if it's working ok you're probably fine. The question (for me) was whether TWSBI's nibs were the standard #6 shape or not - and therefore whether the Goulet nibs would be a nice snug fit within the nib assembly. I thought I read that some people had problems with this - but it may have been with the older (Bock nib) assemblies, or even with the Micarta...

The current TWISBI nibs should be made by Jowo, as the Goulet nibs are, so it would stand to reason that they would be perfectly compatible.

Except that for larger companies, it's possible to order customised nibs - like the TWSBI Mini nib, just as an example.

I also had a Vac with a JoWo 1.1 and switched it out for a Goulet. Works just fine.

10 years on PFN! I feel old, but not as old as my pens.

What is the benefit of a Goulet nib?

It costs $15 to swap in a Goulet nib, as compared with $23.99 for a Vac 700 nib unit - and essentially the same quality of nib from the same manufacturer. If the nib you brought was too narrow, too broad or whatever - or if you simply like a bit of variety - it's a cheaper way of changing things up.

I wanted to switch nib sizes. Since I already have the Goulet nibs for use on some other pens, it seemed like a cheap way to do it.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
