I use a Schneider Express 225 as a direct replacement for these pens. No modifications needed. They are readily avalable from Amazon and Cultpens among others. Comes in 4 colours, and it is a very pleasant refill to use.

Thanks, hopefully I can find a seller of that closer to the United States (so far all are overseas be it UK, Germany, Albania, etc).

I think this Paper Mate refills will work, available in USA.

Thanks, if the Schneider Express 225 I have coming from Germany do not work, I'll give that a try (or least do so anyways if I end up actually using up the refills I get).

If the PaperMate works, we're ALL in luck. Wow. SERIOUSLY? Because the hack-job I had to perform with the YARD-O-LED, 1011, was a nightmare. No proper tools or sight/measurement accompaniment. It was wig city. However, it seems dubious. There's no groove cut in the end of the PaperMate. At least I won't be so afraid of the clicking in/out action I am with this YARD-O-LED, and, it's EXPENSIVE!! The PaperMate's, though easy to get, only come in 2 colors. Thanks for the Schneider 225 tip. I was really remarking today about how they look like the PaperMate. Whew, if it works. What a life saver.

PaperMate is a NO GO! Too big. In circumference, the point is MUCH too big to fit through the nose hole the 137 fits through fine, because of course both were made for each other. Bummer. The Schneider Express 225 better work, because we're running out of options for this nigh obsolete rarity.

I recently bought refills for a vintage Aurora from ww.passion4pens.com They also sell the refill you ask about and they are in Illinois. They seem to sell all kinds of weird and wonderful things. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

225-Scneider-as a replacement for the 137 MINE. BUSTED! The refill is TOO long, and while it does have a 'slight' groove on the top, which teases you with a possible fit into the brass metal node inside the push-the-top plastic exterior pen refill/point/writing bit, it DOES NOT FIT!!! BOO!!! Even a cursory attempt with a very sharp knife to cut into it, file it down a bit, FAILED. Come On 700! I've ordered the SCHMIDT 700, as a last resort before tossing the pen into the river, and it's an ALL METAL number, 4.02 inches, with a nasty looking little ring of Saturn sticking out, also of metal, around the business end portion of the refill. Yaffa has it. I've ordered some, and if it doesn't work, it's down to the deep blue sea for this old pen. Still, of interest, the Schneider 225, which arrived today, fits perfectly with the old metal plastic PaperMate Profile pen. ALL MODELS, of course. But NOT the PELIKAN Corvett. Again: Save Your Money, folks, the 1011 doesn't work, and neither does the 225, in replacing the 137.

Hi Karl

Just wanted to ask if you did find a matching replacement for your Pelikan ballpoint.

I have a similar problem here...

Thanks for your help in advance.

Okay, seems that no one is interested in this old thread and question except me. No problem. But to finish the thread resonably for future questions I can tell you the following:

Pelikan 137 M refill CAN be replaced by Schneider Express 225.

...BUT, you have to shorten the plastic tip for about 2mm. Then everyting works fine.

Hope this will help for questions in future.
