Inky T O D - Every Day Carry (E D C) Inks

I have too many inks to settle on an EDC. That being said, I always want something that is relatively permanent, for stuff like signing checks. And for the most part, that ends up being either a Noodler's ink (54th MA, Kung Te Cheng, or El Lawrence) or an iron gall (blue-black for the checks, the other cool colors for in general). Those three Noodler's inks are just subversive enough to get away with my bank's requirements for "blue" or "black" and still be fun to write with, BTW....

But then I want "fun" inks for journalling, note-taking, etc. And that could be almost anything -- my "new" close to favorite being Diamine Anniversary Terra Cotta but I also have a pen inked up at the moment with Diamine Emerald (probably my favorite green ink on the planet) and I have some browns and greys to try. And I nearly always have something inked up with blue or blue-black (or both): currently it's the Metropolitan, which has Diamine Anniversary Regency Blue. But I suspect that either Diamine Anniversary Blue Velvet or Sailor Souten will be next up in SOMETHING. Now that it's really Spring I want brighter blues than over the winter (which was largely Noodler's Manhattan Blue or Noodler's Henry Hudson Blue).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I keep a Lamy Safari inked with Noodler's Heart of Darkness in my purse at all times, mostly for writing checks. I have another Lamy Safari at work which is also inked with Heart of Darkness. And at my desk a home I have Guider Marala eyedropper which is always filled with.... Heart of Darkness.

I love having a variety of ink colors, and at home I usually have at least four other pens inked up, but I must have one good waterproof black at all times.

Wait, hasn't it shipped?

It hadn't when I made the post, four days after making payment. Looks like it has now, though. Maybe I'll get them next week, now.

I mailed it out last Monday.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
