The 400's like the Estie DJ are standard sized pens....with much better balance posted.

I buy mostly old used pens....semi-vintage&vintage. After finger polishing with semi-chrome and buffing with a flannel rag, I wax them.

Less than 1/3 of my vintage pens had mars. After a gentle polish, none. Since then none in I wax them.

Because Large pens are so short, un-posted, I am forced into that cramped at the section death grip classic tripod grip.

Posted, they rest in the pit of my thumb, taking away the heaviness and back end weighting problem.

I really thought I would always post - in reality I never do. I hold the cap in my left hand as I write - makes it faster and easier to cap and uncap during class when I'm not writing constantly but taking notes. I'm also more comfortable with lighter pens, which is another thing that has surprised me, as I really thought I'd be more into heftier ones. Adding the weight of the cap as I write is just kind of annoying to me...

Always, with the exceptions only of a very few large pens that are tail heavy if you do, and a sterling Waterman Exception that for some reason refuses to maintain a firm grip on its cap if you post. Must be something to do with the square shape?

So I guess you could say that the only exception is my Exception......

Sorry; no I don't. No matter which pen.

Always, even my TWSBI 580 USA. I turn my pen cap when removing it in the opposite way so I don't have to worry about ink being emitted by accident. I am hard-pressed to be comfortable not posting my cap. :)

No,as I do not like to scratch the barrel of the pen. Only exception is if the end of the barrel is threaded to hold the cap.

Not for me. I like the bigger sized pens. The Safari looked a bit too square when it was posted, and the Pilot Metropolitan was a bit shorter posted but heavier. I currently write with a Nemosine Fission and, apart from the fact that if I screw post the cap then it would scratch the bridge between my thumb and index finger, it would also be a monster of a burden to write with it. I know some people complain about parking their cap, but at this point I can park the cap anywhere and not worry about it. To me, you only post a rollerball. But why would I ever use a rollerball if I have access to my pen?

I normally don't but there are a couple of pens that I post. Most notable among them is my Pelikan M101N because it is a small pen and I believe it was really meant to be posted. The balance of it is absolutely perfect when it is posted. Another one that I post is my Lamy 2000. I also use that unposted from time to time.

Always...

Except on the odd occasion where I'm making just a quick note and there is no point.

Very rarely. Doesn't feel good. .too big wrong balance. I like to hold the pen cap in my other hand.

When I do post it's only bcs I cant either hold the cap or set it down.

Nearly always. There's a couple that don't post well (or at all) and I find that really annoying.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
