Hi!

Can somebody recommend some paper for handmade notebooks? I have some excellent Staples 120gsm paper but it is too thick, I find (had a go already).

Any suggestions...?

There are a couple of threads about fountain pen friendly paper -- I imagine most of the papers mentioned would work in handmade notebooks. There are also a couple of existing threads about handmade notebooks, where the authors mention the paper they're using. :)

I just recently finished making 2 leather bound journals. On a few recommendations I found here, I used Staples Sustainable Earth Sugarcane paper for my journals and I must say, this paper is very FP friendly. It is also the right thickness in my humble opinion for making one's own journal or notebook. I am also very found of HP's Premium Choice Laser paper but it is a 32 pound paper if you're looking for thicker stock.

Hope this helps,

Thank you very much. I keep hearing about this Staples sustainable paper- have yet to see it. It is not available on the UK website.

. 32lb is 120gsm, it seems ; that would be too thick. I have already used that.

HP 24 pound paper.

There is a guy doing custom notebooks, and he uses that paper.
