If sponges can have shoes, why not roosters?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I like the fact that you persevered despite the power failure. It looks like some colonial era scene, until I identify the Lamy Safari.

I like the chicken with the shoes on. Don't they hurt the chicken's feet, though?

It was quite nice. Although being summer with the candle that close to me, it was hot. lol

The shoes are made of a special compound. :D

LOL best thing I have seen all day. Love it :D

haha thanks. I enjoy doodling from time to time, always great to hear it gives someone a chuckle.

If sponges can have shoes, why not roosters?

You have a very good point.

Removed the last of the Diamine Syrah from a vintage Aurora 88, cleaned the pen and replaced the ink with Blackstone Blue - a very nice Australian-made ink (sample courtesy of migo984).

I have a tendency to go through periods where I just feel like filling a bunch of pens and trying different ones each day. I've been doing that for a few weeks, and then earlier in the week I did some pen repairs (putting in new sacs, soaking and cleaning out nibs) so I had some "new" pens to fill and try out. So last night I went through and emptied and cleaned out a bunch of pens to put away and I'm down to my core pens. Today I have two of my top five with me.

A Pelikan 200 in swirly green from the late 90's with a 250 gold nib that is beautiful to write with (tiny bit springy, tiny bit feedback yet smooth and completely dependable). I have it filled with my regular Private Reserve Sherwood Green. A great ink for this pen.

A recent acquisition that has quickly zoomed up into the top strata: a black Sheaffer vacuum-fil Sovereign. This pen was only made in 1948 when Sheaffer tried out replacing the Triumph nib they did have on the pen with a huge open nib. This nib is as big as a Lifetime OS Balance nib on a more modest sized vacuum fill. The nib is gorgeous and an extraordinarily smooth fine to almost extra fine. I have it filled with a new favorite ink, Diamine Blue Velvet. Together it is a completely classy pairing of ink and pen.

It's funny that I chose my classiest pens today, because I wearing my classic (1950's pattern) Hawaiian shirt on this incredibly hot casual Friday. I'm just classy all around. :D

LOL :) Does this rooster have a name? I like your creative take on the traditional "the quick brown fox..."

Maybe Larry the rooster? lol I have absolutely no idea why, but that name pops into my head when I look at the drawing. Odd considering I don't know anyone personally named Larry. Ah yes the classic "quick brown fox", not sure about my quote either. That just happened. All of this happened after seeing some kind of chicken x-ing sign.

Having raised a chicken or two, I'm not sure if this is a rooster or a hen. As they say, "the only sure way to tell is that roosters crow and hens lay eggs". I have not seen or heard this chicken do either.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

LOL love it. Larry is a great name for him. It is in complete contrast with what I would expect from a Rooster wearing sexy boots. You have a very fertile mind my friend ;)

Very nice indeed.

Is it an eyedropper?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
