I just posted an announcement on my site about this new M805 Stresemann but thought I'd share some pics that I dug up here with you...

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

They definitely look great. Is this pen in particular called "Stresemann" or is that the general name for the striped patterns on the Pelikans? ( I remember reading something about "Stresemann" having something to do with someone who wore striped suits.)

The term generally refers to the pinstripe pattern on Pelikan's pens and has been around for some time. It's also an informal nickname for the Souverän line. It seems that it may be adopted as this model's name. When I found the above pictures in the media archive, they were labeled as M805 Stresemann.

That is so scrumptious.

They've got me with this one, even though I would have preferred an M400 size like the original-ish black striped incarnation. And I see it features the new all-rhodium plated nib as well.

And if people feel that black on grey is a bit underwhelming, they can wait with bated breath for the pink tortoise M600. I'm grabbing both :)

Very nice, except the nib.

A nib more sober without ornament (look cheap...) as the m101n or Montblanc heritage 1912 would suit better IMHO.

A futur m605 in this dress ?

Yawn. Actually I agree it is a nice looking pen, and I think they are smart to put it out there in the M800 form; they make a little more money and we are all attrracted to the 'big but understated' pen, still, I am slightly under-whelmed.

So much for the red cup clue.

I think it's a definite improvement over the straight black model; kind of reminiscent of the black striped 400's from the 50's. However, I have never been a fan of black pens, so my wallet is happy. Now if they had come up with M400 model with the black/grey-striped barrel and a sterling cap and turning knob (like the M425), I might feel different.

Well... it's neither my colour nor my preferred size. So I gonna save much money. :D (Which I'll spend on other nice pens like a red M600, or a vac filler... so no money saving in the end. )

Oh, there I was all excited it was a new model across all the sizes, which would have made more sense!

Guess I'll be saving some money. I'm digging the silver on grey though, and I think this choice was pretty gutsy of Pelikan.

It'll be interesting to see if it's a hit or not. I wonder if they were inspired also by Montblanc's Balzac WE (besides the original grey 400, of course).

Looks cute but in fact, it seems just the next overpriced plastic pen with a fantastic "nib 'n feed". Keep it around € 150, I could be tempted, otherwise I will skip it in a heartbeat.

Dang, I REALLY like that black and silver, but I'm sure a M800 is out of my price range.

I had to skrimp and save to get my M405.

I don't know but they screwed up the new york city special edition pen from a few years ago. they should start by redoing that and issuing an apology to all new yorkers that bought that horrible cow pen thinking it has to look better in person.

That would look awfully nice next to my M101N Lizard...

At first I was underwhelmed but you're right. It would be nice beside the Lizard...but in a M605 form factor.
