The New Platinum Preppy 0.2Mm Ef . . .

Tas

Recommended Posts

In a couple of days I'll know if the Preppy EF is similar to the Pilot EF.

Or not.

The order (from Goulet Pens) was delivered a couple days after my previous post.

Where, I have no idea, but it wasn't to the claimed address. Not in the mailbox, not on the front steps (which are actually around the back side of the house away from the highway), not anywhere in between.

I've got a claim in with USPS, and expect some movement on the issue between now and 2017. Maybe.

its ok, I am going to try to smooth it a bit. I have this little barbers hone at home that does a really nice job at this. I am sure I can get it workable, its a nice little pen for sure.

I would recommend this Preppy as great fun for writers with a light, very light, touch. If you use a death grip and a great deal of pressure, you won't enjoy it.

Initial response: "Denied. Paperwork says it was delivered."

Appealing it, I am.

This is the next pen on my list, along with a stainless steel UEF nib on, I'm not sure which model has a Stainless steel UEF nib.

I really like my PO nib, and am disappointed that a Penmanship for some uses performs comparably to it.

I'll definitely have to try this preppy soon!!

Ordered and received them from rakuten. Mine are not scratchy at all considering how fine the nib is, will add a line comparison with penmanship later:)

Excellent, can't wait.

I have R&K's Lepziger Schwarz in one of mine and Sailor's Ink of Witch in an other. It's teensy nib really brings out the colours from these gorgeously dark inks . . . :)

okay here is the comparison with pilot penmanship extra fine nib. To be honest i feel more feedback when using penmanship than preppy but i enjoy using pilot nib more due to its relatively big size.

I can see you enjoy it more and judging from the lines you've shown it's a lot more expressive than the Preppys.

Looks like I'll order one up before I make any New Years resolutions . . . :)

Thank you for the comparison.

I hope you don't feel you wasted your money on the Preppys. I'd feel awfully guilty if that were the case . . .

I was thinking about ordering from there, but at the end I've bought one from cultpens...

Thanks for the heads up, Tas! Can't wait to try this! ;)

Phew!

I've decided not to buy a Penmanship. Reasoning being that even more EF nibs at my disposal will no doubt reduce the amount of time my gorgeous 912 gets in my hands.

Perhaps. :)

(That and Cult Pens are out of stock ;) )

I just ordered one from Goulet and am having them convert it to an eyedropper for me.

I have one 0.5 and four .03.

I have a Balance in 0.28 so it will be interesting to see what the 0.2 writes like.

So far all of the Platinum nibs have been well made and durable.

Happy New Year.

Be Happy, work at it. Namaste

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
