Diamine Blue-Black And Twilight Difference

Recommended Posts

I am no longer using Diamine because I decided that Rohrer is much better, at least for me. But I am asking out of curiosity if anybody knows what is the difference between Diamine blue-black and twilight colors? I tried several times, but I can see no difference. I thought may be I am color blind, so I asked other people too. Nobody can tell any difference. Just out of curiosity, before throwing them into rubbish. I even thought if I incorrectly filled the wrong ink, but no, everything is checked.

To my eye, Twilight is more of a blueish teal and Blue-Black is more of a dark blue. Not everyone can see subtle differences, though. My husband, for example, can't see any difference between old Sheaffer Peacock Blue and new Sheaffer Turquoise, but I definitely can.

There seems to be plenty of difference between my bottles. Blue Black is what I would call a dark blue with nice shading whereas Twilight is a very different thing. Less blue, tending towards dark grey but saved from that by the green/teal undertones; it is a very complex colour with excellent shading.

No doubt my preference is already clear but Twilight is amongst my favourites whereas Blue Black stays in the drawer. That said, I am very picky. I have many inks inhabiting the dark blue / grey / teal area and there are several instances of inks which most would say were the same but fussy me only likes one. e.g. I love Misty Blue but not keen on Kensington Blue - I doubt many have them both because they are so similar.

All the above only applies if using the same pen, of course. Oh, and the same paper! All part of what makes FPs such fun.

I'd love to see pictures.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I agree with swanjun--Twilight definitely leans toward teal, and Blue-Black is a rather nondescript dark blue. I'm going to be interested in seeing the new Regency Blue, which is a dark blue from the Anniversary collection.
