How Durable Are Italic Dip Nibs?

Hello,

I know that sharp pointed nibs like EF Principal last about 20 pages of text but how durable are italic square cut nibs in particular Brause Bandzug?

 

I have to wait for about 30 days for every order to come so it would be useful to know that. Thank you in advance.

Italic (or broad) nibs last much longer than pointed nibs. They do get dull with usage, especially if you use abrasive papers like Kraft paper, but can easily be sharpened. They last for years.

 

I have been using my set of Mitchell nibs fairly regularly for about 4 years and have only needed to sharpen a couple of nibs. Brause nibs are sturdier than the Mitchell nibs but I don't like the slight right oblique cut so don't use them that often.
