How To Avoid Damaging Notebooks In Backpack ? (Bag In Bag)

TheDane

Recommended Posts

Hi FPN :-)

I'm a student and I carry about five notebooks daily in my backpack.

Here are the notebooks I'm using:

http://www.clairefontaine.com/EN/products-page/clairefontaine-metric-n2/wirebound-notebk-22-5x29-7cm-80sh-detach-4-holes-p-sq-5x5-cover-8252C/

Each notebook is about 2 cm thick.

I will like to protect my notebooks better because the content is very important !

I don't want to buy a leather cover for each notebook, it's to expensive.

So I'm looking for a "bag in bag" which has room for five notebooks... but I can't find any.

Can someone help me ?

If you have other suggestions for protection, then tell me :-)

Thanks in advance

Regards,
TheDane

Hey, good question.

I have no ready suggestion for you, but the most important will be to make sure there is another stiff and sturdy backing for them, and that they have no room to slide about.

So a stiff plastic board as backing in a sturdy plastic bag then tied from the outside with a rbbon or something like that would do the trick. Perhaps things you or your parents have around the house...

I often damage my Moleskine which is supposed to be tough. Though I did notice a downfall in quality with them as well as with their paper.

something like this...?

Good luck ;)

Thanks, but that is not sufficient for me.

Go with Oxford or Clairefontaine ! :-)

The product you're suggesting is too small and it's made for something like the a tablet.

I havn't found anything for weeks ! :-/

Gallon size baggies, or bags that have a zip lock top.

I carry a string backpack and a variety of flimsy totes and carry my sketchbooks everywhere.

Do you have an example ? :-)

If you were using more conventional spiral notebooks, you could put them in a 3-ring binder. They're orgainized, all in one place, and protected.

A 2-gallon ziplock bag is available at your local supermarket. They come in several thicknesses. If you shop online you can find ziplocks in very heavy plastics made for electronic parts or other protective tasks.

Most school supply sections of office stores have fabric bag-like carriers for kids' stuff and lunches. I'd go for the Hello Kitty anniversary packaging.

I ride a recumbent, I play go, I use Macintosh so of course I use a fountain pen.

I found a new backpack: Osprey Nebula 34

The compartment where the laptopsleeve is, will have a nice and tight fit for notebooks :-)

Certainly sounds like a solution, but I thought you mentioned not having much money .......

But never mind, Great if you're happy with it.

I didn't say that I don't have any money. I just said that 5 leather covers will be too expensive :-)

And btw leather covers are not a good solution!

Yes, I'm happy with it :-)
