Esterbrook Brand Being Revived This December?

Interestingly, though I used to be a light/moderate recreational drinker, in the past couple years I've lost the taste for it.

I might have had a couple beers Last Year...

Yeah, I've been watching that, it's an epic #Fail.

In my opinion people these days over-use the word 'epic'. This by all means is just a fail; poorly designed product, poor presentation, and asking people to mainly pledge money for something that they can buy already in an online store anyway for the exact same price.

A good example of a fail, but nothing more.

I respectfully disagree.

The near vacumatic level of business acumen displayed by the owners, as they march stalwartly into the withering, never ending volley fire of the overwhelming line of Estieville militiamen and womenz, Indeed broaches the territory of EPIC fail.

Looking this thread for months and didn't want to lose my time just to say that its imposible to recreate the representative icon of the Esterbrook company: the marbled ones, the ones that I like and love and of course the 20 or 30 nibs, anything less its a joke.

This thread is all about celebrating a box.

Lets not forget this and get off track.

I've heard that sales are going well and that both customers are more than satisfied with their glorious new boxes. I suspect they will have thrown out the pen thing that came with it because, well you know, they take up storage space. :D

WHAT??? You mean I can't just buy the box alone? What a rip off.

NO. You buy the box, the pen is a free gift.

Word is getting out about these pens. Really nice box ya know.

Box looks great on the dash of your car- beautiful adornment, and a great case for your sunglasses.

Pen may help behind your tire if you are stuck in the snow.

Plus the Aluminum bits on the box really fit in with the interiors of some modern luxury cars. It's like they were made for one another!

You know, I'm starting to feel a little sorry for Mr. Rosenberg.

Naah, just kidding. ;)

I have noticed, though, that the last couple of times I went in antiques stores/malls around here, I was finding a number of Estie J-series pens (as in *real* Esties, not the modern in-name only ones), whereas in the past I was lucky if I saw anything more than Wearevers or Sheaffer cartridge pens). Dunno if it's a case where suddenly the old ones are being unloaded with a resurgence of the brand name (and hype), or they were there all along and I'm just finding my way to those particular stores (in both recent cases, they were new-to-me locations).

The pen could also be used to let a little air out of your tires if you are stuck in slushy snow. The shape looks perfect for pressing the little metal prong in a valve stem.

Or releasing all the air from the tires on the car you find in YOUR designated parking space. You know, the one with the "I (Heart) Bics" bumper sticker.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
