I suspect that it would be difficult to see the shimmer head-on. Dark inks with lots of contrast look much better. I don't have any oranges to try it.

What about Lava? Didn't you do that mix?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

OH.... well, darn... maybe the next time I'm sending you a package, I can send you some Chesterfield Fire Opal (key ingredient for Fire Diamond Dolomite.)

I wonder what it would look like to put some glitter in Noodler's Whiteness of the Whale. There would be virtually no color (but it is not really invisible like Blue Ghost) but just the glitter. I'll report what I get when I try it out. Hoping to experiment soon. Maybe in Noodler's General of the Armies.

I'm really enjoying using J. Herbin Rouge Hematite in a very wet clear Vac-700 with a Goulet 1.5 mm stub. The effect is stunning in my Christmas cards. Got to remember to keep shaking the pen. I can see the gold in the pen, but I try to shake it up just before I touch paper with it.

I've been adding the pearl luster powder supplied by Amber to me and enjoying how the ink turns into what I call pixie dust ink.

Edited to add: only using Noodlers Ahab pens because they can be taken apart to clean. They are working just fine.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

WotW would be interesting. I used my KP mix today in a letter after over a month of sitting. I forgot I had to shake it so often.

I would've guessed minion dust. Or worm dirt.

Steve, That's funny.

Sinistral1, I am so pleased you like it! I would not have have thought of trying this ... we shall have to consider these members for inKclusion in SuperPinks.

I like Minion Magic - I was promoted from worm a long time ago and haven't created worm dirt in ages.

After reading through this thread, with my hands all covered with Icelandic Mint, the only words I can think of are "Where's the nearest place that might have luster dust...?" and "oh gods I'm in trouble." As if having inky desires wasn't enough, now I get (have) to have SHINY inky desires TOO?!? :yikes:

Seriously, though, thanks for taking the plunge, ScubaSteve et al!

According to Amber, she bought the pearl luster powder in the cake decorating section of a dollar store.

Update: When refilling with more pixie ink yesterday, I found clumps of goo in the bottom of the vial I used for mixing. Good thing I'm using a disposable pen that can be disassembled for cleaning.

Oh no!! ScubaSteve, Amberleadavis, have you guys been having this issue too? Sinistral, is your Ahab okay?

No issues for me. I used the Konrad a few days ago and it was just fine. I filled it the same day I posted pictures of the Kon-Peki/gold mix. Sample vials don't show any SITB either.

Both my Ahabs are still writing just fine after over a week with their pixie dust inks in them.

I've been busy working so I haven't had any dust ups ... except for the legal kind.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
