Ultrasonic cleaning rapidly removes all the ink and dust from the nib/feed. Nevetheless I'm not thinking about trying this in any of my piston fillers.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. It was just very concentrated ink crud due to being left uncapped for 5 days.

I was finally able to take a picture to show the effect of the pearl luster dust mixed in the Old Manhattan Blue with the shift in the angle of the light.

This is really neat stuff! I'm thinking about experimenting with my Noodler's Hunter Green and Fox Red inks to use with Christmas cards. I think it would be fine to use in pens you can take the nib and feed out to clean it. Or piston pens that completely disassemble like a TWSBI Vac-700. I'll probably use it in with a 1.5 mm stub. Thanks TheRealScubaSteve for starting this line of R&D!

After soaking the feed overnight and changing the water 3 times, it is quite clean. It looks perfectly clean with the naked eye. With a loupe, there are specks of gold powder "here and there," but it is pretty minuscule. The feed channel is completely clear, so I have no issues with using this ink and powder mix in other pens.

 

This particular pen (Baoer) was also lefted uncapped for 1 and 5 days respectively, allowing the feed to completely dry out. I would expect less difficulty cleaning under normal use.

That looks pretty cool - it almost looks like the bottom writing is still wet!

I tested the copper (⅓ tsp) in X-feather and so far I really like the way it looks. I have a dark black with a copper sheen that is understated but clearly identifiable. Neat!

Thanks. I looked there, may have given them away. But I still have some iridescent watercolor cakes. I wonder if that might work...

My suggestion is take a small vial, like the sample containers that you get ink from Goulet's in, and add 1/8 tsp of powder then fill it with an ink you want to use it with. I find wet inks seem to do better. Shake it well and test it by dipping to see if you get the effect you like. You can add more powder to increase the effect but beyond 1/4 of tsp the risks of clogging go up for me. I'd stick to cartidge/converter pens until folks have more experience with it. Then have fun.

I was worried that they did since it said it was for cake decorating, but I have not seen any ill effects yet nor anything that looked like sugar. It should be easy to tell (I assume) because the particles would look transparent. My luster dust looked like real metal dust and was fine like flour.

 

I didn't measure with anything but eyeball. I just used a #6 nib to scoop powder into a sample vial. Use a dip nib to test saturation (after shaking) and add until you're satisfied. I can't say that I'd be too worried about too much gold . . . I left the pen nib down for a week and still couldn't get it to clog to a point that it would not write after flooding the feed.

Probably, I didn't taste them. It has Dextrose which is a sugar.

 

Just picked up sme gold and bronze powder at the dollar store. Now to decide on an ink...

I've still got my Konrad inked up with the K-P mix. It must be close to 3 weeks at least. No signs of mold.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
