Cassis - L'artisan Pastellier

L'Artisan Pastellier is french ink / calligraphy materials producers. They offer two lines of inks suitable for fountain pens: CALLIFOLIO (inks made for fountain pens, neutral PH and so on) andENCRES CLASSIQUES (not all of them may have perfect properties however I've tried most of them and had no issues in my fountain pens).

L'Artisan Pastellier inks don't get much love or attention here. I understand this as they're not easily obtainable. You may buy them directly from the producer's on-line/stationery boutique. The best thing to do is to organize group buy (I've done it twice last year for polish sountain pen board). It's nice thing to do - you get to meet a lot of people to exchange inks and the shipment cost becomes really friendly.

Cassis isn't joyful ink but I have weakness for dark, gloomy colors.

I am a total sucker for inks like this. The bruisy, stormy colors are great. I really like it on the Franklin Christoph paper, too. Thanks for the review.

I like this one but I believe Bourgogne is better.

Thank you for your excellent reviews. I have often wondered about this ink, but the information and colors shown on their website do not inspire me to purchase them. They should pay you for this service!

I like this ink a lot. It's not joyful, and probably won't make you smile on a rainy day. Actually it's quite dreary but in a good way. Or maybe I just like dark murky purples (that's sure)?

The ink is reasonably saturated, has nice flow in both wet and drier pens. It doesn't cause any kind of feathering or bleedthrough, even on low quality paper. The flow is satisfying for me. The ink is very easy to clean and safe for pens. I can't guarantee it'll work for every single lever-filler ever created but I had it in old Sheaffer with a sac and after almost 5 months of not using the pen (I simply forgot it was filled) the pen started instantly, there's no degradation seen in the sack.

While I guess the color won't appeal to every one, I find it interesting and plesant to use.
