I have a number of Parker Vacs that are complete except for the sac

What does it cost to get the sac replaced ?

No cleaning or parts -Just the sac

danny fudge (www.thewritepen.net) replaces vacumatic diaphragms for around $20 plus postage; that presumes,of course, that nothing else needs to be fixed or replaced. he's given me good, fast, inexpensive service (for maybe two dozen vacs) for some years now.

Check out my blog and my pens

Just seconding Danny Fudge. We are blessed with quite a few first rate repairmen. This past weekend I was fortunate enough to watch Danny at work. Organized and deftly skilled. While not the same repair, I saw him resac a lever fill by what looked to me like magic! Disassembled the pen, cleaned the nipple, shellacked it and somehow made the sac almost attach itself! While I may be the only man ever to glue his ear to his elbow saccing a pen, Danny's fingers told me the depth of his experience. Always nice to see a master at work.

Thirding Danny Fudge - although I have not had anything done by him yet, I do have a Parker 51 Vac heading in his direction. A $29 P51, new sac for $20... I think that's a pretty good deal I got there (assuming no other issues of course!).

Funny. I was standing with Kidde watching Danny repair and sac pens and I thought I heard Danny offer to glue Kidde's elbow to his ear for him just so Kidde wouldn't have to get shellac on his fingers!

Everything Kidde and others said is true. I've had him do stuff for me. First rate, fast turn-around, great prices, and courteous service. Hard to beat that.

Keith, get to him early. Last Friday when I first walked past his table he already had a days work ahead, within an hour of opening.

Hooker56, you are mistaken. Danny offered to remove the ear from the elbow, clean the shellac and then solvent weld my mouth closed. Lucky for me he only had two gallons of MEK, not nearly enough for a big job like that!

After recommendations on FPN, I recently sent sent a batch of 5 eBay puchased pens to Danny. Superb service, all returned home to Australia in record time. I am now writing with them one at a time. Two Vacs were included and the one I have inked at the moment is writing better than ever before. His nib adjustments seem to be excellent too.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
