I hope this isn't against any rules, but I had the opportunity to spend some time getting to know the owner of this "famous" little fountain pen shop in Osaka a few weeks ago and I thought the FPN community would be interested to learn some more about this man and his store that provide some unique offerings.

I think you should add that Mr. Morita do not accept credit cards in his shop, but only cash.

Is a nice shop, but the first time I went there, I have not been able to buy any pens, because of that.........

Is this still true today? I know he accepts credit cars on his website, so I think he may have begun accepting credit cards recently. I'll have to look into this more.

excellent re port thanks

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I'll be heading down to Osaka and Kyoto, and I'm thinking of visiting Morita pen shop or Nagasawa. Does Morita have any vintage japanese pens?

Thanks for that! Seeing that you were there not too long ago, do you still remember what lines of pens does he have? Are his prices for japanese pens lower than the usual street price? Thanks!

nope he sells modern pens but he does have exclusives from sailor
about his price he sells at Japan SRP which with the exchange rate is reasonably already cheap
so if you still want to own a pro gear mini he has the only pen of this series left that exclusive to him...

He has allmost all the japanese pens, and a very large choice of western pens.

Prices are around 5% or sometime also 10% lower than prices of main shops like Itoya or like those of dept store.

He has this line of pastel blue sailor with silvered metal part, made in exclusivity for his shop. The color is very nice.

Consider also that Mr. Morita speak very little english, and his shop is really very small.....!

Thanks! Came across that pen while researching. Looks gorgeous, but I'm afraid it won't be suitable for me in school.
