A question for P.B. in this case. I was just wondering if the Angel had any slits in the nib.

Yes, it does. It's still not a flex nib. It's just springy. Somewhere around here is my review.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Sorry for the sucky nib pic - my camera doesn't do macro. Figured it would at least give you an idea of what the nib looks like.

I'm not sure how I would get involved here, but I would like to see about borrowing a TWSBI with a 1.1mm nib if possible

  • 2 weeks later...

And the writing sample:

Love the PB nib on this, how wide is that writing? I have been tempted to order my first twsbi already tweaked from Pendleton, but that looks broad!

Amber's 540 is a M. I ordered a F on my 580; I'll get side-by-sides up later today.

Hey Amber... I'd love to try a Vac with a cursive italic or stub nib.... anything like that floating around ?

Thx !

I do, but we have a waiting list. I'll have to organize that. I only have 1 Vac 700 suitable for loaning at this time.

All of mine are BROAD BROAD BROAD even if they are a medium. Check out Science Chick's post when she has it. Also, check out my review from years ago:

If PB is at the show, I'll ask him about acquiring a few more nibs.

Looking forward to her review certainly! Have several pens I am thinking of stubbing, but always like to see before and after results!

Your review and full quality images on your site are great. Though your PB nib certainly looks awful close to a broad. Coming from someone who likes Japanese fines, this is hard to see myself loving with a fleet of fine gold pilots being my favorite EDCs. Time to talk to the nibmeisters I guess!

Anyhow, beautiful all the same!

When I first got into pens, every single one I bought was an EF or F. A Jinhao M was way too fat writing for me. Amber is partially responsible for my transition with some loaner pens. I now have a BB I want stubbed.

Atomix, I used fines for decades. I guess it's an acquired taste. (Thanks, Steve!)

Have to laugh, just cleaned out a jinhao I haven't used in months and said "wow this is wet and thick!" Will test a bunch more before my next plunge I would like to think, Baltimore pen show in March and a great pen store close to work.

Sorry for the delay; I always think I'm going to get more done than I actually do. Hope this helps in your decision-making.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
