Another new Kobe ink, yay! Thanks for the review. Any chance you would be willing to post some comparisons with other Kobe blues?

Sorry, this is the only Kobe Blue I have.

Oooo.... send me a letter with this ink for a CRV (Co-Razy-View)?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Will do. I'll put it in something with a broader nib, or some flex...

May I ask how you bought this ink? My worry is that maybe you visit Japan recently and that's the only way to get this ink?

In the past I've purchased Kobe inks on ebay from the seller cool-japan, but this ink doesn't seem to show up

thanks for any hints

MCN - I draw your attention to this post in another thread, comparing this ink to a few other Sailor blues.

blueair - if it isn't listed, just contact cool-japan through ebay and ask about it. He'll either relist it or send you a paypal invoice to buy it directly.

Thank you so much for sharing the information about these sailor inks.

Your comparison photos of the various sailor blue inks and the link in your signature where you explain how to obtain these inks is such useful (and maybe dangerous :) information.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
