Pilot Metropolitan <F> To Europe?

Have you tried gouletpens.com? They sell them in both f and m nibs. Not sure if they do shipping outside the States though. Ive sent pens to the EU without issue thus far and for fairly reasonable shipping costs too at the expense of speed. I'll be ordering a white one from Goulet.

Yes, Goulet pens is a possibility, yet they have a little more expensive shipping than JetPens.

I recently sent 3 pens to the UK for 4

$4usd, 10 to Denmark for $25 and 3 to Germany for $6. All sent standard post. It takes a bit longer and may be slow (2-3 week average) to leave Customs in Miami though.

Hopefully you'll find a deal.

I just took a quick look at ebaY. The Pilot MR from pokydady in Hong Kong is $19.99 plus $6 postage. I have purchased once before from pokydady and did not have a problem. The Pilot Metropolitan in the U.S. appears on ebaY for around the same price plus $9 international postage. I'm pretty sure the U.S. postage has no tracking. The Hong Kong seller doesn't specify whether tracking is included. I would inquire about the Hong Kong Post tracking. Tracking with Hong Kong Post is usually only a dollar or two more.

BTW, as an alternative to the now seemingly defunct Stationeryart, pokydady (ebaY) in Hong Kong sells the Pilot 78G with CON-20 converter for $13.50 plus $2.50 Hong Kong postage. The postage is probably less than the Pilot MR because the 78G doesn't have a box,

Pokydady's price for the 78G is almost twice that of Stationeryart's - I'm going to miss them.

Here is pokydady's ebaY Store:

Well technically that's not a con-20 but the same 'cleaning converter' that the Metropolitans come with (technically Pilot never gave it an official name, but it's not the same as the retail Con-20, same differemce I guess). And 12.99 or so seemed to be about average for the 78G (they were closer to 10 on JStationery at one time), but at least they're not $20 like I saw on some places.

How long ago was the 78G for around $6?

When that MR does arrive can you confirm that it's a Pilot based C/C ?

Thanks for the info on the "CON-20" converter as referenced on the pokydady ebaY site (or not per your clarification).

I bought some 78G's from the now seemingly defunct (but good when it was alive) Stationeryart site in HK. The price (if memory serves) was a bit less than $7.50 USD each for the 78G plus a couple of bucks HK Post international postage; add a buck for EMS-type postal tracking. So it was it bit more than $6 plus shipping by simple division in my previous post.

It was a month or two ago that I checked the Stationeryart site (when it was still up) looking for the bigger bottles (60 or 70ml? they are different shapes) of Pilot/Namiki Blue ink. But they had only the small 30ml bottles. At the same time I checked for the 78G and they were still up for around $7.50 plus shipping. But not in all colors and nib sizes. I guess this was when Stationeryart was in the process of shutting down.

I will take a another look at the converter that came with my Singapore-bought MR converter and compare it with the converter that came with my 78G's. But when I first got the MR in Singapore I recognized the converter right away, it looked the same as the problematic converters that came with my 78G's. Either way, the converter that comes with the 78G or MR (both have a black sac) are a problem in my experience, especially with the 78G's broad (stub) nib, and certain inks (including Pilot/Namiki blue which is a work-horse ink for me).

I didn't reference Jstationery in my posts because the OP stated he/she was in the EU. AFAIK Jstationery is in the US (USPS shipping CONUS, at my post-time free for orders over $20). Given the huge increase in International USPS rates these days and lack of affordable tracking, I didn't consider them an option for a EU buyer. But JStationery does say at post-time their 78G's are available for $10.95 USD plus shipping. Not an option for me (I am in SE Asia), or likely the OP. But I don;t see the Pilot Metropolitan on the JStationery site.

Oh yes here the link to JStationery's site (FWIW out of respect to the OP):

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
