Here you go, guys!

Got this bottle pretty recently.

I thought I would write a quick review of it. Nothing extensive, just a first look.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

Cheers,

Martin.

I like it, but not so much for dry pens.

For some reason the first ink I thought of when I saw it was Diamine Salamander: it is not the same colour at all, but I guess there is something 'gritty' and 'organic' about both of them.

Enjoy!

Look at the range of colours the glass pen produces!

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

That is J.R.R. Tolkien on his profile photo. See for example http://narnia.wikia.com/wiki/J._R._R._Tolkien

Merci beaucoup! Cybaea a bien reconnu la personne sur ma photo: J.R.R. Tolkien!

I am sure your French is much better than my German!

Glad you liked the review. Avec plaisir!

On a side note, I have to agree the ink looks a lot better in a wetter pen, which should do its great shading properties justice.

That looks nice...will definitely look for this on the next trip to town. MB is about the only B&M store that has fountain pen ink in the area that I live in so thank you!

Thank you.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

  • 1 month later...

Got 2 bottles today from the MB store... Stock up as fast as you can ... according to the store manager this will be an extremely short run ink. They actually didn't want to sell me the ink because they want to sell them with the pen.. but since they didn't have the pen they seemed to find the ink in the back of a draw.

My wife bought me a bottle of this ink for xmas, together with the matching pen :-)

i find it very wet and unable to cope with most of the paper i'm currently using so will keep it for a later time.

Nice colour although i personally prefer irish green

Cheers

I bought 2 bottles of it at $17 each. I really like it. Not quite as much as the Jonathan Swift, but close. It shades nicely, bit it is a tad wet in most pens.

I enjoy MB 146 pens, Sailor, Pilot and Platinum pens as well. I have a strong attraction to dark red and muted green ink, colors I dislike for everything but FP ink. I also enjoy practicing my handwriting and attempting to improve it. I love the feel of quality paper under a gold nib.

I have this one and Johnathan Swift. I prefer Daniel Defoe because it is yellower rather than bluer green, which suits me. Love the shading, the acceptable drying times, and the lack of bleed through. I may well sell my Johnathan Swift so keep an eye out for the classifieds.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
