Mk 10 Disassembly

Can anyone be so kind as to point out where I might find info on dis-assembling an MK 10 to lubricate the piston assembly? Needless to say this would be my first attempt. Thanks

Certainly. It comes up here, too, but I knew where to look on FPGeeks. It is possible to unscrew the barrel and section at the ink window, but I've forgotten whether it's at the section or barrel end and the adhesive isn't easy to convince to let go. I would not suggest following the toothpick advice in comment 19 (I think he was thinking of the P1 which has a rather different feed; my 10/20/30 all have an obstruction behind the feed and it would be REALLY hard to reach the walls to apply the lubricant), but the idea in the next one regarding what tool to use is rather like Alexander at Gordium.

Also, since it's the first attempt-- reverse thread. Every fibre of your being will be whining about turning it in the wrong direction when you go to remove the piston. I have yet to try it without beads of sweat forming on my brow from concentrating on doing it "wrong".

Thanks for the reply - I should be able to do it right but I can't guarantee I won't need a bath afterwards. I just hope I don't break anything.
