Tried mixing Blue ghost With Kon-Peki to make a security ink that keeps it's UV glow while it looks like a perfectly normal ink. No color change and it kept it's Kon-Peki-ness.

 

I have yet to put that Deleter ink in my Ahab though, because my feed is stuck. (Any good hints would be great.)

 

Another curity attempt was when the Noodler's Kung Te-cheng bottle said used only the included. I used it on the preppy and jammed up non stop so I got my Noodler's creeper and sucked some ink in that. Works fine.

Blue ghost isn't even blue. It's like a green teal.

I don't find it blue. It's like a glow of a green with a slight blueness. Then again the paper can be a factor. I use a ultra white eye soring bright white paper. Inkjet paper.

After having some mold problem with one ink and checking different stuff about biological growths in fountain pen inks I feel that if I had the necessary equipment I would love to do some aggressive growth test with several inks.

The mold problem resulted in that I added 0.5ml of a 10% solution of Sodium azide to the ink with good results.

 

 

In addition to that I am looking for a White ink that works in a fountain pen for at least 24h even if the pen is impossible to clean and needs to be thrown away after that.

 

I did test some winsor and newton inks both red(not suitable for fountain pen) and blue(suitable for fountain pen) caps both the white(redcap) and red(bluecap) dried on the nib when I was writhing for less than 20 min and required some work to get it running again. Cleaning wasn't horrible but certainly more work then preferable. I am going to post reviews of the winsor and newton inks.

 

The next white inks I am going to test are several white isographic inks but I need to get some more platinum preppies first.

Try soaking it first to get all the dried and/or old ink out. It should pull out with a little effort. You grip the nib and feed together and pull forward, not too violently, and it should come out. Use a rag around your fingers to prevent getting your fingers too stained (but I think some ink on fingers is inevitable...)

You should search the site on how to adjust the Ahab or Konrad, there is plenty of info. Good luck!

The nib is out the feed is there being stuck. If that doesn't come out within the next few weeks my SOG Powerlock is going to pull it out. I pushed the feed too far back

Funny thing. Thanks to one of my sophomore classes (and the English teacher that taught them) I learned something about the word used to describe those who are fair haired. The word blonde refers to those who are of the female persuasion while the word blond refers to those who are not of the female persuasion, but can also refer to the females. I did not know this until this year.

 

Funny how handy that knowledge is. I'm writing a science fiction novel in which my hero is the only blond on the planet. (It has to do with his illegitimate father, some genetic engineering, a nuclear bombardment, and a bit of racism.) I kept using the letter "e" when I described him I envision him as almost a platinum blond. Not white hair, but very light colored. Lucky I hadn't started typing yet when I learned this.

 

So, females who have fair hair can carry the extra vowel. Reference to the hair color in general requires that this vowel be omitted.

 

As for the fountain part of this thread...oops!

... as Blonde is gender-specific to girls & ladies, so is Brunette. The universal term for all people with darker hair & complexion is Brunet.

 

Oh, just to remain on-Topic, but not related to Inky Thoughts, I did dye my hair, eyebrows & lashes a Deep Henna Red once, but that lasted less than a day ...

Well, here is one of the experiments my beloved puppy and I did -- egg noodles. Yes, it is an OLD photo. Paladin was only 180lbs in this photo. At full grown he was 220 lbs.

I evaporated some down to 3x the original concentration, and got an ink that behaves nicely in FPs.

 

What was your process for doing the evaporation?

I used pliers to pull the feed out. (Yeah I know) Then I put some Deleter Black #1 in it, which is a dip pen only ink. (Yes, I know.) It's works fine just a bit dry.
