… this way of posting images.

I'm certain it wasn't the intention of @visvamitra to expose only the raw URLs in the text of his reviews; the images were embedded inline using (WYSIWYG-editor or manually generated) HTML code in the post. However, since the recent platform migration, references to externally hosted image files, e.g. on Imageshack or Photobucket, using plain old HTTP (as opposed to HTTPS) as the protocol are no longer rendered inline, and that's something now beyond the O.P.'s control.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I have seen this way of showing images inside other posts on the new FPN.  Perhaps it's a glitch in the new platform that may still need to be fixed (adjusted), I don't know.

Not per se. There's some discussion, with feedback from @wimg himself, here:

  • 3 years later...

As @visvamitra hasn't logged on to FPN for a couple of years, I have decided to start restoring the images to some of his older reviews.
The hyperlinks in the OP are not 'secure' links (i.e. ones that start 'https://'), so the Board software won't now display them.

I hope that restoring the links/images to these reviews is useful.

My only 'contribution' here is adding an 's' into the start of each of the 'http://' links in the OP, and then formatting them as hyperlinks to the same urls.

All credit for the images, and for the review, is owed to visvamitra.

Enjoy!

Hi, I'd like to present you another review that I've made for polish fountain pen forum - that's why the text is not written in english. I'd love to prepare new scans (in english this time) but I don't have time. Anyway, I hope at least some of you will find it useful even tough you won't - probably - understand the text as polish is not the most popular language to learn :) But then I believe the colors have language of their own.

I'm huge fan of GvFC products. Cobalt Blue hasn't disappointed me even though blue is not my favourite color. It's good ink with good properties, a bit pricey, yes. But it's worth the money you pay for it.

I shall perform similar 'necromancy' on other reviews, as the spirit moves me 😉

Thank you @Mercian!

And thank you for the resurrection of the other posts you did already. Your work is highly appreciated! 👍

If the composition of inks have changed over time, this is also a great reference in case someone finds old stock bottles. :)

One life!
