Hi,

 

My name is Nanya and I'm eighteen years old. I own a Cross century II and a Lamy safari. I'm very new to using fountain pens ( used them all through primary school though) and like to learn a lot more about them.

Welcome! I'm new to FPN but I find if I search for what I want to know the answer is usually there. I've posted a few questions and received great answers. And met some nice folks in the process.

Welcome aboard - never look back!

 

Cross Century II is a nice pen - great work!

 

You will have lots of fun exploring and experimenting with inks and pens here. ;)

 

...one word of advice - don't get too many pens too quickly - treat them like a special meal - savour and enjoy finding about a pen which takes your fancy, and then research it to understand it better - maybe don't buy it if reviews are awful.

- Don't hit 'Buy it Now' without researching! :D

Hallo Nanya, welkom bij FPN.

 

Cross is een prima merk en the Century II een goede pen.

En de Lamy Safari is een heel goede pen voor zo'n lage prijs. Een heel populaire pen voor beginners, die er als ze meer ervaren zijn toch mee blijven schrijven.

 

Veel plezier hier op het forum.

Oh i don't intend on buying too many pens at all. The lamy i bought myself and the cross was a gift from my father. He used to be a big fan of fountain pens. However he isn't anymore :-(

I am not a Sir by the way, I am a girl :-)

Welcome, Nanya !

 

Generous membership with some interesting experiences. I think you will enjoy exploring FPN.

It started with a sharp stick and berry juice. We have traveled a very long way, except the member who makes ink from berries.

Basically, fountain pens are about a controlled leaking of ink onto paper. So many geniuses have contributed to the solutions.

En je hoeft inderdaad niet van plan te zijn om tientallen pennen aan te schaffen om hier interessante dingen op te doen hoor. Geldt voor mij ook. Hoewel... ik ontdekte hier het bestaan van demonstrators en stub nibs, dus er zijn toch al twee pennen bijgekomen :)

Hi Nanya, welcome to FPN. Another Dutchie!

You could 'dress' your Lamy with different nibs quite easy. The Italic 1.2 is fun.

You know there are some pretty special fountainpenshops in Holland. Treat yourself with a trip to Den Haag, and buy at PW Akkermans in de Passage some of those amazing inkbottles in funky colors. Mauritshuis Magenta of Hofkwartier groen hmmmmmm nice! Or get Oranje Boven, to support Holland in hope they get to the half finals. Hup-Holland-Hup.....
