Thanks Mike.
If I've got an ink and someone is in doubt, I'll try and help.

It's the least I can do. :)

That's how Bresil used to look. Post EU reformulation it's a tepid brown to me. I'd be inclined to try the Sailor based on the link.

I don't know if this will match the nail polish exactly, but an interesting brownish-greyish-purple is Diamine Handel. It changes drastically depending on paper, pen, nib, etc. It also sheens on Tomoe River. It is a part of Diamine's Music Set but is available individually in a 30ml bottle on Diamine's website.

Kyo-Iro 'Stone Road of Gion' comes close.

Funny, Catherine. I was also thinking of Kyo-iro in this context, but I would have suggested Soft Snows of Ohara. I guess that's greyish-purplish but not brownish.

Could you post a writing sample or swab of Stone Road of Gion that shows the purple in it?

If I tried to match what I see on my monitor, it would be Kiri-same. If I tried to match the photo, as modified by the thread title, I might try KWZI Grey Plum.

Here is an ink I just received and I really like it even though I normally avoid "bruise purples" and gray leaning purples. Click here for huge image.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

It's not exactly what the OP was looking for, but it's beautiful and will look great with that nail polish.

I just ordered a bottle of the stuff. How did I live all this time without grey-purple?

I don't know, but once you find the right one it's eye opening. I found that I like the ones that are really dark and pretend to be black. Stealth Black as Frank C would say.

Fantastic, Amber, and thanx. I love such colors. Comes in close to my own very most favorite mix. The touch on the fingernail, however, IMO, looks more like a swoosh of barf. (Sorry, no harm meant).
