Markings (C.r. Gibson) "bonded Leather" Journals - Awesome

I got a few of these (5 x 8) for $6 on sale at Staples. They are great for fountain pens! Some show through, and the paper isn't super-smooth, but there's been NO bleeding or feathering with anything I've used with it (I've only used Pilot F and M nibs with it, though, as I don't have anything else yet!). I actually prefer it to Rhodia paper, though that's just my personal preference (smoother writing experience with those nibs, for some reason). I'd LOVE to know how consistent the paper is across the various kinds of bindings/sizes!

 

Here's a pic (Pilot M nib with Iroshizuku Yama-Guri ink) (verrrry slight ink spread compared with Rhodia, and the edges of the lines aren't as smooth, but I actually prefer this look):

I love the Markings Journals, especially the ones with 252 pages. I've found the paper to be relatively FP friendly. The only thing I don't really like is that I would prefer unlined pages.

They used to also be available at Target (and were cheaper than at Staples unless Staples had a sale) but when I checked yesterday they seem mostly have been removed from shelves at Target, and the selection at my local Staples was considerably smaller than I remember. I did buy one, though -- because I'm going to fill up the current journal in a couple of weeks, even though the non-sale price at Staples is $3 more than at Target.

I just picked up one of these recently at a local Target. As stated, there is some show-through, but very little bleeding through even with my wettest flex and stub nibs.
