What Is Your Favorite Ink Based Only On The Bottle It Is Sold In?

Or put another way, of all of the ink companies, which makes the coolest ink pot? For me, I like the way the J. Herbin inks are presented. I like the small bottle. But my experience with inks is limited so I'd like to hear about your favorite "bottle" of ink.

I decant most of my inks into little bottles of my own. Most of my favorite brands don't have my favorite bottles, to be honest. (Sailor, I'm looking at YOU.) Ironically, the best bottle for storage and decanting are the large Diamine plastic bottles - not the glass, but the 100ml rectangular bottles. I'm not sure if everyone who orders direct from Diamine gets these, but my 80ml inks come in them, with a separate glass bottle (that I usually use for something else.) I can just pour these straight.

For a bottle to fill from, I like the Akkerman bottles for appearance, fun, and practicality. The Pilot Iroshizuku bottles are pretty, too, but I don't have good ways to stash them - they're too big just to tuck in a corner of my bookcase without blocking books, and have a weird footprint for storing together.

May I ask what little bottles you use for you inks? Just the akkerman bottles?

Lamy. It just *looks* like an ink bottle. Not a shoe, not a martini glass, not a genie bottle, not some other random glass bottle with who knows what inside. It's a bottle you expect to find ink inside.

For me? Akkerman. I don't own any. But I love the way it looks.

No, I use wide mouth glass vials that hold about 10ml, and 15 or 30 ml eyedropper bottles for inks I use frequently for eyedropper pens. This lets me have a bunch of inks at my fingertips without all the clutter of full sized bottles.

Rohrer&Klinger, I love the pharmacy type bottles, very simple yet a lot more effective than many other bottles out there.

For me the ones I really want are the Kingdom Note ink bottles produced with Sailor. The picutres of the mushrooms on the front are, I think, really cool.

But $40 to get a bottle to the US, might not even be possible to get it to Europe.

I like the old Caran d'Ache Colours of the Earth bottles. They are stable, easy to fill from, and pretty. Plus they look like ice cubes with lids.

Hmmmm, I would have to say the new Montblanc bottles do it for me. The presentation, the cap and the shape together make up for a great filling experience. Their inks are extremely good as well! The 30 ml bottles are also great.

Pilot Iroshizuku bottles are also very nice looking and I have just one bottle. I can't justify spending that much on a bottle if it doesn't contain a great ink that I know I will like.

Lamy 50 ml bottles are also pretty good looking. Very nice and modern design and even though I don't use the cleaning paper that is a very nice thought.

Caran d'Ache bottles look great but I haven't bought one of the bew ones yet, very expensive ink! But I bought one of the old bottles just yesterday and it also looks great!

I don't care much for Diamine bottles but I absolutely love their inks! Bought 8 bottles from them as a new-job present for myself and Bilberry is my new favorite ink. I also didn't know that we could order directly from Diamine, I gotta check that out!

Anyway, I could go on and on, I love ink bottles.

Yeah the Diamine bottles are a little utilitarian for my tastes. And the box it is stored in is too large and too tall, they could have made a much smaller square shaped box for their 80ml glass bottles.

The regular (new) MB shoes and/or the new GvFC bottles , both just because of the quality of the caps. Ditto the new CdAs, although I find their bottles and boxes a bit weird....
