And Then This Happened

You know that moment when you open up your pen case that you always keep inside your jacket pocket and find this?

The last thing that you would want to see.

Oh. My. No, I don't know that moment, and I hope I never do. I am feeling a number of twinges on your behalf, however.

Ouch, I'm sorry to see that! I have a Boheme that I absolutely love and would be sick if that happened. I hope MB can replace that section for you at a reasonable cost.

I had something like that happen to a much more pedestrian pen many years ago. I finally figured out that having the pen case in a suit jacket inner pocket while seated and writing at a desk was not a good idea. When I leaned over the desk to write, I was leaning with the pen forced against the edge of the desk top, which fractured the pen. I was lucky. I learned that lesson on a cheap pen.

That absolutely sucks...

Here's hoping that MB can facilitate a repair for you!

This size Boheme is based on a safety pen design. The barrel broke in two while the nib was retracted so the mechanism still works fine. I could have Chris engineer a new barrel i suppose but I will see how much the boutique will charge me.

I think what happened is that it got stressed by the removal from the case which was a bit tight as the leather was a bit thick. The irony of corse is that it is a MB case.

I once broke an Eversharp Symphony barrel at the c-clip taking off the (admittedly stiff) cap. Still feel like :crybaby:

A similar thing happened to my Elysee - not an expensive pen, but the one that I used to fill out the forms and sign with when I got married.

Pens mean far more than their monetary value.

I feel bad for the OP, but this made me laugh out loud. Edited by MCN

I keep my 3 "currently in use" pens in a stiff leather, 3 slot case and the case goes in a canvas bag with my iPad so the pens aren't going to get bent. I learned my lesson years ago when a $300 Sailor pen fell out of my shirt pocket as I was crossing the street, then a car ran over the pen. Even so, seeing that picture makes my want to upgrade my pen case from leather to steel.
