Batman's Fountain Pen

TFForever

Recommended Posts

I was watching Batman Begins for the millionth time when I noticed in the scene where he buys the hotel (because his girlfriends are in the pool), he whips out a fountain pen to write the cheque. Any idea what his pen is?

I'm trying to load a screen capture but it's not working.

Noticed the same thing when I re-watched it last year. Would be very happy to know if anyone can identify that pen.

+1 as to the scene. Couldn't get a clear view. My guess would be a Black Parker Duofold?

I'm curious now too. I've gotten a hold of WB via Twitter and asked, and I'm getting contact info for Batman Begins's script supervisor to see if she remembers.

I can interweb good.

Don't know what pen it is, but something I know for sure.

Even Batman doesn't know how to hold or write with a Fountain Pen.

Look at the nib, it's flexed (more like bent) due to the pressure he's putting on it. I highly doubt you need to 'flex' a pen to sign a cheque.

Probably not, but could this be a Waterman Man 100?

I think it's a pretty good guess, and the closest match.

Conceptual mistake: this should be a hooded nib pen :o

It's Bruce Wayne; either a Mont Blanc 149 or a stainless steel Lamy 2000 that's been gold-plated.

Or maaaybe a vintage "51", as he has the vintage cars, house, etc. to go with it.

It's Bruce Wayne using the pen, so something with a huge flashy nib.

If they'd shown Batman signing a waiver form, then yes, definitely hooded, and probably caped too.

Oh, and it has to be a hard nail nib, evidently Batman can't handle flex.

That metal band at the blind cap is pretty distinctive, but I can't ID it...

...still waiting to hear back from WB and the script people. Sent an email to WB today instead of just tweeting them.
