Parker still sells Sonnets, so you should be able to get one from Parker. If you find a donor pen it will probably cost more.

Parker will probably want to do the replacement.

Fountain pens have a plain cap jewel, where rollerballs have a cap jewel with a bulls-eye pattern. A jewel from a rollerball will fit, but it will make your pen look like a rollerball conversion.

I don't remember seeing any cap jewels on sale. Good luck.

Here's what someone did to a pen I bought cheap on ebay:

Yes, the Sonnet jewel is a press fit. It pops off easily if you want to take it off. If you found a cap from any Sonnet fountain pen, you could easily pop off its jewel and put it on your pen.

I emailed customer service four days ago and received this reply today:

Dear Mr. ---,

Thank you for your email.

As we do not sell that kind of spare part, we would recommend that you send your pen in to our Service Center in Janesville, WI so that our technicians can service it. We would be grateful if you could fill in exhaustively the attached form. Thanks to your address and contact details we will be in a position to have a quick and efficient communication with you.

In order to carry out a repair under warranty, we need a proof of original ownership which can be a printed receipt with a product description or a stamped original warranty document supplied with your pen at the time of purchase. Our warranties are not unconditional but cover manufacturing defects and poor workmanship. They do not cover accidental damage, misuse, "wear and tear" or the overhauling of the instrument.

If your repair cannot be covered by the warranty we will issue and send you a quote for approval before carrying out the repair. You will then decide if you approve or refuse the repair's costs.

In case of any further question, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Service After Sales

Since I acquired the pen secondhand, I suspect the cost of repair/jewel replacement is not worth the value added to the pen.

Old (mk1) sonnet's have a plain jewel (fp) or a bulls-eye jewel (rb).

The later edition sonnets have a parker logo on it.

I have never tried Parker repair service. The other Parkers I have are indestructible, and for Sonnets I just bought another Donor Pen.

It was honestly cheaper to buy another Sonnet with the nib I wanted if I wanted to get a different nib. No reason you couldn't recycle other parts as well.
