Diamine Marine

First review and first real post on here so be kind please

 

I bought a Lamy AL-Star and filled it with some Diamine Marine ink, and I was really impressed with both! I should add that I'm pretty hard to please, and this ink might take up a permanent position in my everyday pen.

 

See for yourselves; I think this image is pretty close to the colour I see on paper:

What a gorgeous ink and fantastic review. I've always wanted this color, and I may act on it now. Looks to be a bit less feminine and darker than Diamine Soft Mint. Thank you!

For me it looks similar to the discontinued Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea.

I am normally not a fan of blue inks - it would be reasonable to assume I hate the free blue cartridge supplied with almost any FP, but this has really changed my mind. I've not tried a lot of blues for this reason, but I get the sense this is one of the best.

 

I'll post a pic of the pen later to compare the colour of the ink to the pen.

I think that Lamy AL-Star is an under-appreciated pen. I bought one about two weeks ago, and loaded it with Akkerman's Binnenhof Blues and the pen really enhanced the ink. (I have that same ink in a 1.1 stub, and it comes out much more purple--which I do like; from the Lamy, though, it dried blue but with a hint of a more regal tone.) It's great when two different pens can effectively double your ink stocks!

 

So you have shown us a great ink, here, deployed from a great (and affordable!!) pen....

Agreed, they are really reliable, I just somehow not like their look, but otherwise they could be really the all star winner in reasonably priced pens. Not mention, have a lot of nib choice and changing the nib is really easy.

Another great ink from Diamine and also thanks for the great review and keep on posting. May have to order some of this ink myself now. Really enjoying seeing the colour of this ink!

I've got a bottle and like it. However, I don't have a bottle of Diamine Teal, but I think I'd like it better. I tend to gravitate toward darker colors.

I picked up my bottle of Marine today, and tried it in a Lamy Vista. Very nice!

 

I'll use it in my Omas L'Acqua di Bologna for spring and summer writing
