possibly celluloid as I can recall, but unable to trace the old listing to verify. Any simple test?

This is the Wing Sung Lucky 271. They are fun pens with Pelikanesque details. They have clips and top hats that are definite homages. Something that most people do not know about this model pen, is that the 78G/Metropolitan sections can screw into the body.

They are a rolled sheet material of some type. I believe they are in fact inexpensive celluloid.

Best way to say if its celluloid or acrylic is by gauging the depth of shades. From picture it does look like acrylic. But, only Soumitra can say it for sure

The seam, and the bubbles in the material, look like celluloid to me.

I remember that mine is a terrible writer, but I've forgotten what the problem was. I'll try putting an MR section on it since it seems a shame to let a pen that after all is rather pretty go to waste. That will have to wait though since it seems to have gone into hiding.

Wing Sung made at least two models from this type of material. The 271, the pen shown, and the 270. The 270 is more of a cigar shaped pen and has a metal sleeve extending back from the section into the body of the pen. The 271 is also available in plastic and feels pretty junky with a ratting squeeze converter. I no longer have a 270 to test with a Pilot 78G/Metropolitan/MR/Cocoon section, but they definitely fit in the 271. Incidentally, the 270 was available with a gold nib as well as the steel. I will have to take a picture of the mock Pelikan frankenpen I assembled some time ago later today and post it here if readers are interested.

Genuine Celluloid: Cellulose Nitrate, will smell of camphor if you rub and sniff the material.

I have acquired another variant of this model recently , after a near three year gap. Quite fascinated by this pen and I even wrote down a formal reveiw . I am sharing some photos of the pen and three pages of hand written review. Apologies for poor picture quality, as I get some time I will type the formal review.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
