The swabs at the bottom should give you an indication of how it will look in your dry-average-wet nibs.

One of my all-time very most favorite inks.

Great review!

Very nice review, and I forgot how vivid this ink truly is... I need to bring out my bottle for the season ink one of my "M" pens. This kind of color really needs to show...

Thanks for this nice review! What I see on my screen here is exactly that which has always ended up on my paper. I love it too, along with Poppy and Wild Strawberry.

PS: If you like it that much, why not treat your avatar to a bottle of it someday?

I love this ink, but it is terrible for crusting up on the nib if you leave a pen inked and not used for a couple of days, in my experience.

Yes, though it has never clogged anything in my experience. An minor annoyance when considering the other brilliant properties of the ink in my opinion.

Me too. Crudding on the nib is a phenomenon characteristic of many reds. But it has never clogged any pen of mine.

I tried this ink in spring of last year, and liked it enough to buy a 80ml bottle.

It does get cruddy round the nib, but this dissolves easily during cleaning. It's actually quite dark through an extra fine nib.

That's always been my experience. The only time when I have it annoying is on my Safari. When it gets on the circular part on the bottom of the grip section, it's hard to get off. I actually first noticed the crudding when I kept getting orange marks on the inside of my right middle finger...when I didn't have Pumpkin in the pen  . Probably isolated to the charcoal Safaris anyway.

No, it's a problem on all the Safaris - the little lip where the grip meets the nib is an apt home for orange crud, hard to remove without running under a tap...

That's what I feared. I hoped it might just be the texture of the charcoal finish that caused it to stick. Does it occur in the Al-Star I wonder.

I imagine it does, it has the same lip as the safari. It doesn't bother me enough not to use it, buy you could fill it with a tiny brush and either a matt black paint or liquid masking.
