Question About My Frontier Greenwich Meridian

I have a Parker Frontier that is marked "Greenwich Meridian 2|0 0'0" . I have done a little research and think that it was made to celebrate the new millennium in 2000. Can anyone provide a little more info about this pen? It is a stainless gold tone model with a fine nib. Thank you for your help.

From memory, I believe your pen was made in 1999 to celebrate the 2000 millennium. Although not a limited edition, I expect it's still a rare pen. (If my memory's not right, I'm sure someone will correct me!)

 

At the time, Parker also made a Duofold Greenwich Millennium in fountain pen and roller ball variants. These were limited editions.

Have you got any pictures of the pen? It may be that Parker made it for the Millennium Dome exhibition, as opposed to the millennium itself. Pictures might jog my memory.

 

Parker had a small number of pens on display as part of the Millennium Dome exhibition, but I can't recall which they were.

Unfortunately the photos haven't given me more certainty. However, it's most likely that your pen was a special edition, but not a limited edition, produced around 1999 to celebrate the 2000 millennium.

 

I don't think it was produced for the Millenium Dome, because I don't recall Parker making any special editions for the Dome exhibition. I think a small selection of regular Parker pens went on display. I can't recall whether a Duofold Greenwich Millennium was exhibited in the Dome, but it's possible.

That I can't help you with! It's a very personal choice whether to ink an unusual pen.

 

I might choose to keep it uninked, but you might enjoy writing with it. I'm uncertain of the pen's financial value.
