Pay It Forward 2014

Well I guess my one complaint about the Conway Stewart Churchill set is it has. A hondurian Churchill. I am guessing primarily due to the us Cuban embargo. Gee i wonder if there are any Cuban fountain pens?

If there are, they were probably Russian to begin with.

Well, no. I rolled once. I just rolled 216 dice at once. ;)

Omg, flashbacks of being kicked off of AOL for dice rolling, lol.

These are some of the oriental fabrics I have.

I'd have to pick the Lotus at top right considering I have a tattoo of an abstract Lotus with a healers hand symbol :)

One day left to enter!

My first PIF!

I have a Fabriano EcoQua pocket notebook (3.5 x 5.5 inches, dot grid) and a 2-3ml sample of Sailor Jentle Peche.

The notebook was part of a multi-pack I recently purchased, and the ink was a free/bonus/surprise sample in a separate order. I love the paper, not so keen on the ink (not a color I can see myself using at any point). I don't hear much about this paper, and want to share the love :)

It's open to everyone. Enter by PM to me (please include your address) and I'll draw on Friday, April 25 around noon, Eastern time.

Only four entries so far. I will happily ship anywhere (courtesy of understanding employers).

I love the whole idea of PIF, it's great, especially seeing how you end up harbouring things you might never use again, I know I have a few things just lying around. Rather than collect a lot of pens I accumulated a lot of inks since I started using FPs. I went through a period thinking purple was my signature colour, but use it a lot less than I thought I would. I would like to PIF a bottle of Rohrer & Klinger Cassia. It's a 50ml bottle, I've used some but I believe there is at least 40ml left if not more.

As for rules -

I'd like it to go to Europe.

I'm not too bothered if you've recently won a PIF, it's your decision to enter.

I would love a line or two motivating the entry and I'll pick someone I find suitable.

The winner should be announced around the 25th this month.

LAST DAY BUMP

LAST DAY BUMP

I already have a bottle of R & K Cassia otherwise I'd enter this PIF. It's a beautiful ink. So if anyone is wondering about whether to enter, don't hesitate. Have a go.

Can people PM me if they wish to apply with reasons why they'd like this wrap. New fountain pen users (min 30 posts), students etc will be given priority.

See further discussions about my Pen Wraps here - https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/240284-pen-wrap/page-6?do=findComment&comment=2969903 or PM me.

I almost forgot the Grand Prize Winner!

Paul Bell - kidde!

I promise that this has done more for me than any of you! But I am extremely grateful for all of the entrants and hope those not chosen win another PIF real soon.

Thanks Paul, greatly appreciated. I've sent the PM before I posted this...

I love a new pen, and I especially love one I've tinkered into working (again). Thanks for the opportunity.

If you ever want a similar challenge, just say the word... I can oblige!

Kbeezie:

I just about dropped my phone when that photo opened up! I did make a squeek sound that startled my dog, though!

Kbeezie, is that one of your head shots for your modeling portfolio? I do agree that thumbthing is wrong with my face, but after seeing yours I feel much better!

BTW I have never seen a septum so deviated!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
