Parker 100 Nib Replacement

I have a Parker 100 that has a damaged nib. I've sent it in to Fountain Pen Hospital and then to Parker for repair. Unfortunately neither one could fix it as there were no replacement nibs available. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I had a similar issue. Parker wanted $145 for a nib unit replacement ( I don't believe you can get a nib separately from the section/feed). You would probably be better off trying to find a cheap used P100 and switching out the section. I wish I could be more help! It was a real shame, my P100 was a lovely smooth, wet medium and the pen felt better in my hand than my P51s.

I think I remember reading something on Richard Binder's site once in which he said he had devised a tool for removing the nib on a Parker 100. He had told Parker and they were not very happy about it. In any case, you might contact him and see if a) he can remove nibs and B) whether he has a nib or whether you could get a damaged Parker 100 and remove the nib.

I have one and after I got the nib stubbed it proved to be a lovely writer. It feels nice in the hand and I think they look great.

The nib in Parker 100 is rather easy to remove from the feed and the section. I don't think that this is the problem. Availability of 100 nibs is another matter.

Hi

It might end up being cheaper to pick up a replacement pen and just retire you old one.

There are quite a few on eBay from around £120 to £180 and some even lower.

Really. Can you describe in brief how you remove the nib or the feed or both? I'd love to know. I have one and it did not seem at all obvious to me (unlike say the Parker 45 or 61, which I have disassembled).

Thanks for your suggestion.

David.

Can you describe the damage? I have repaired some damaged Parker 100 nibs. They are oddly soft, I will say.
