Just a quick note to update you on the latest vintage pens and new models/colors for our Ranga models. We've been flying under the radar for a few weeks as we near completion of our new pen studio ....

VINTAGE UPDATE

It came to my attention recently that people don't realize the depth of our vintage/restored pen offerings. They think of us when it comes to new old stock and our handmade Indian pens, but not for the classic American vintage pens. "I don't think the Estie collectors know you have so many," commented one of our regular customers recently, and that's just an example of one category. (We've got 11 of them on the site, ranging from $30 to $70, see here.) While we re-arrange the category/manufacturer presentation on the home page, I thought I'd summarize some of what we have currently on the web site:

PARKER -- currently 115 pens including 37 Duofolds, 22 Vacumatics, 8 Parker 51s, and 7 Parker 61s.

SHEAFFER -- currently 161 vintage/restored pens including 69 Balances and Flat Tops, 21 Targas, and 8 snorkels.

WATERMAN -- currently 45 pens including 7 ripple pens and 11 pens in the 52 family.

FLEXIBLE -- We have 46 pens with legitimate flex!

We just acquired a collection with over 1500 vintage pens, so I expect that in very short order we will have more vintage restored pens available for viewing than any seller on the web. We try to price our pens to SELL, based on eBay and competitor research, and we frequently entertain offers from customers and other dealers. We spend a lot of time on photography, and our pens are fully guaranteed and can be returned for a full refund.

RANGA UPDATE

We've got a new model being shipped to us right now which we are very excited about. It utilizes the popular Eversharp flex nibs. We expect it to arrive in the next 10 days, but in the meantime we do have a new model and a new color to mention.

MODEL 5 NOW AVAILABLE WITH GERMAN SCREW-IN NIBS -- Model 5 is the huge one, almost 7 inches in length, very sleek and unencumbered by a clip. They come fitted with a JoWo steel nib and a piston converter, and they are priced at $90.

We also have a few Bamboo pens in a nice new color the Ranga folks are calling red ripple. It's a little closer (brighter, redder) to the original Waterman red ripple that Ranga's "pink ripple" color. These Bamboo pens with screw-in nib units and converters are priced at $95, or $110 for the premium colors. The red ripple color is a basic, non-premium color, but we only have a few:

Thanks for your continued patronage! Fully half our orders ship to addresses outside the US, so I know we are spreading the vintage pen love across the globe.

Ah, Teri, my favorite pen dealer, you've got me excited with that 1500 pen teaser. :) Was the collection a vintage collection, or are there modern pens as well? I'm assuming they'll be offered for sale over time, rather than hit your website as one big batch?

Looking forward to the pen studio!

They are 99.9% vintage! Mostly the big 4 makers, with Sheaffer leading the pack.

As soon as we get moved in to the new work space, we'll start getting these on the web site. Since I am the bottleneck, it'll be our usual 20 to 30 pens a week.

Thanks for your encouragement !

Teri

I was wondering if all Peyton Street newly acquired pens all pass through the *just added* section on the Welcome page. That's the page I keep track of.

That's a great question, and the answer is yes 90% of the time. The only time the very latest addition doesn't show on the home page is when I decide to re-use a SKU. (That only happens when a new addition is an exact match for a pen previously in inventory, in which case we only make small changes to the description and swap in new photos. This allows anyone watching the previous listing to get an alert that another is in stock.)

If you visit the new pens page -- see link below in my signature section -- you'll see everything that's new regardless of SKU.

You can also subscribe to the new pens RSS feed and you'll see anything we flag as new.

Thanks!

What about when you get 1500 new additions? :)

Peyton Street pens has a most comprehensive presentation of the company products.

It's very informative about the pens' history, materials, filling systems, nibs etc. and leaves you knowing everything you need to know without having to ask any questions about its condition. you even get to know what work was done on the pen.

It's like a mini historical pen catalogue. I regularly consult it to see what a pen I read about looks like or how old it is, and the pictures give you a better view of a nib than you'll ever see in person.

Peyton Street Pens inspires confidence in total customer satisfaction.

I have no affiliation whatsoever because I've never even bought a pen from them. I enjoy shopping for one so much that I don't want to spoil the fun by a final decision, and I've already lost out on my favorite one due to my dilly dallying.

Congratulations on your new pen studio.

You are so kind, I'm really flattered. We do try to provide some resources that are of interest to fellow pen lovers.

You'll have to let me know what you are looking for .... There's probably one in that last batch of 1500!

Peyton/Sheaffer fanboy post: Be sure to see this green enamel-on-metal with gold cap:

I'd grab it but, umm, explaining ANOTHER pen to my dear wife would be, umm, difficult at best.

Keep 'em coming, Teri. Hope all is well.

Teri, at the moment I have my eye on your Sheaffer Imperial II Deluxe, short Triumph nib Touchdown which surprisingly still has a range of colors available.

Did the Triumph conical nib pens ever use cartridge/converter filling?

The palladium nib is a nice alternative to gold but I've never had a touchdown and feel more confident with a converter.

Oh, and are the conical nibs easily removable?

Hello-

Yes, they made cartridge versions of the Imperial I, 2, 3 and 4 pens .... maybe others in the Imperial line as well. We've had the cartridge versions in the past, but at this point in time we only have the TD versions. The nibs are not at all easy to remove from the section, I believe they are glued in place.

You might take a look at the 727 model ... it has a 14k version of the short triumph nib and is a fantastic cartridge/converter pen.

Thanks!

Bogiesan, I have a TRZ and two Targas so I was thinking of something less slim. Even the tempting Intensity is on the slim side. For me, thicker is better.

Yes, I know that feeling, gimme heft and substance!

I have never held a TRZ. The Targas seem to be slim in the body.

Hope you find your next thick Sheaffer.
