Nice review thanks!

The nib is simply a thumbnail type, it is neither attached permanently to the shell(inlaid) nor is it glued onto the shell(inset).

Hi, I have the same model and since Hari pointed out that the nib is just a thumbnail type, does anyone know how I would go about removing the nib/feed from the section? I tried pulling and pushing both ways... Thanks!

The Pilot thumbnail nibs follow a general principle of construction. You will have to work out the specifics by observing your pen.

There is a threaded collar with two slots placed 180degrees apart. This collar is usually integral with the cartridge piercing nipple inside the section. Unthread and remove this collar.

Now the nib and feed can be pushed in from the nib end of the section and it will fall out from the cartridge end.

Hi, thanks very much for the description - I can see what you mean. However in this particular one the collar&piercing nipple are placed too deep within the section that there seems to be no way of twisting it without probably snapping it (I've tried with a tweezer).

Thanks very much though I would have never figured out how it was nib was integrated into the pen myself!
