Can you help me to date this nib?

Only (and then maybe) with a picture. Sheaffer marked the nibs on their white dote pens "lifetime" for decades, on many different models. A good picture will help/

Likely late 1920's. Full red tapers were used originally and marked lifetime nibs have always existed for desk pens. As the imprint is only three lines it's earlier than later so likely late 20's. A picture would help make a case as to 1924-1934 (and other factors could split this into sub ranges), 1935-1939 or 1940-1942 or later ranges for desk pens.

This pen with its red band dates from 1928-1934. You don't mention a key or "staple" between the section and barrel which would make it 1935-1939 as the section face would be the same. The nib is earlier than desk pen production generally but only by a few years so it is hard to account specifically why it is in this pen but, we do see earlier nibs in later pens on occasion so I think it OK.

Note that based on the imprint, this appears to be an 8-sized nib (which did come in multiple radii, but they were all pretty big), which is larger than the nib that originally would have come in this desk pen. The nib could be damaged if the pen were inserted into a desk socket.

You may be right on possibly damaging the nib as it would be a little larger than the regular 74 lifetime nib (though I think contact with the side of the socket is more likely thus causing leakage and not damaging the nib itself) . Although I've several original S and D sets from 1925 I don't think I have an original pen as that was an 84.

Thanks Daniel, for the advice, I will be carefull if I found a socket for this pen. I check the nib carefully with a magnifying glass and I didn´t found any number, just three worlds, Sheaffer´s, Lifetime , Pen. It is a really pretty big nib! Regards

The Sheaffer Lifetime nibs did not have explicit size numbers on them, but the imprint on your nib was only used during a period when the only Lifetime pens bore 8-sized nibs. I'm going from memory here, however.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
