Reynolds Rocket Ballpoint Pen Reproduction.

Recommended Posts

I just acquired a Reynolds 50th anniversary Rocket ballpoint pen reproduction. I believed it was produced in 1996. The pen is beautifully crafted in anodized aluminum. It is replicated so well that there does not seem to be any way that you can replace the refill.

Does anyone know about this pen and know how to replace the refill? Maybe this is for show only and is not intended to be for daily use.

Not sure if it's the same refill but I've a modern Indian-made Reynolds 'Premiere Gold' pen which I picked up in a charity shop. Build quality's pretty poor but the refill is one of the smoothest I've written with, a very deep and consistent blue line.

I've looked for refills and the only ones I can find come either from the US with extortinate postage (on Ebay) or from India or Australia with similar high postal costs. Just tried to find the listing but can't, could you post some pictures of the pen and refill?

This is a replica of the Reynolds Rocket made in 1945. It is the first ballpoint pen made in the US. The company Reynolds International went out of business in 1951. So I am not sure the Indian company Reynolds is the same company.

The original pen has no refill option by the customer. The pen needs to be sent back to the factory foe refill. This replica seems to be using a modern day refill. But I just can't seems to find a way to open this pen up.

I don't know how to post picture in this forum yet. I will post the picture when I figure out how.

I've got one of the originals (accidental acquisition!), and if the anatomy is the same, the uttermost end-cap unscrews. The picture below shows a line at the joint (purely coincidental!). I hope this helps.
