My credit card has now got a nervous twitch again....

Never try and teach a pig to sing: it wastes your time and annoys the pig

Mine will, too, if you point me to the shop featuring the Simpole band & I learn they ship this side.

Is there a waiting list? Announcing in Market Watch?

No waiting list, at the moment I have Lapis blue, Aurora , Vintage Diamond ST and Patriot, was hoping to have all 5 finishes available before putting up on market watch, however still waiting on the black pattern pen with Henry's band.

These are the first prototypes that were made last year, was originally having 100 black pens with 4 different engravings, however wasn't too keen on the patterns and got cold feet.

The "Aurora" 100 is very beautiful… with the new nib.
However, it is fitted with the previous "three bands", one wider, and not with the new bands which are like on the fifty eight model
Is this that which you wanted?
Will it be possible to order or these models are already booked ?

I asked for the wider centre band, it's just a personal preference. The band on the vintage diamond is even a little wider than the previous 100's and the Sheffield hallmark is also larger.

I agree when you look at the patterns up close they are wonderful, I just wanted something a little bolder.

Here's the latest engraving which was sent to me on Friday to go with Henry's band, I love the pattern but feel the band needs something like a barleycorn pattern?

Have to see it next to Henry's band. Some patterns are complementary & some compete.

Yes that would be a big help, however all the bands are at CS and the sample was sent to me without the band. Will post again when I receive more samples of engraving with the band fitted.

Here's the latest engraving sample from CS, decided to go for a full barleycorn not the interrupted pattern shown here and gold trim instead of silver after seeing this example.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
