Is this a blue-black? I'm not familiar with the color, but it looks interesting.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!
 

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I've had a Sailor with F nib filled with this ink for a few days...and it is certainly a GREAT ink! I am really quite fond of it! Nib glides nicely..

I definitely consider it a blue-black. :) My screen is color-calibrated and in comparing the scan to the original, I think my little scanner captured the color accurately.

 

I'll be comparing it soon to a bottle of Pelikan 4001 Blue-Schwarz (blue-black) that a friend is bringing back from Germany for me. ^^

 

 

Just ordered a bottle of this yesterday!

 

You won't be disappointed! :)

 

 

I'm liking it more today than yesterday...and I really liked it yesterday! I'm thinking a bottle might be a necessity (using ink drop sample now).

 

I'm glad I got an entire bottle. :)

One of my favorite inks. I use it in my Lamy 2000 Fine and it is absolutey killer. I do wish it had a little more blue in it, but it is still a wonderful inl.

My current favorite ink! I think the scans captured the color perfectly.

Have you tried Noodler's Bad Blue Heron? You might like that ink—it has more blue in it, but it's still pretty dark and has some shading to it as well.

54th mixes very well with Manhattan Blue. I put 2-3 drops of Manhattan blue into 2ml 54. It boosts the blue, enhances shading, and eliminates the minimal nib-creep I seem to get with 54th near the nib slit.

 

I'm surprised how little Manhattan Blue is needed to obtain these benefits.

Oh, I should add that I use the Goulet Pens mixing syringe, so the drops are off a needle-thin syringe, not bog drops like you would have with an eyedropper.

I think the color of 54th Mass is great, but what I really love about this ink is the slightly-lubricated property of it. It flows really beautifully. And I know it's weird, but I like the "Shaprie" smell of it. Pretty sure I'm in the minority there, but...

I agree! It seems to be more lubricated than Noodler's Black; it flows very easily. ^^

 

I just gave my bottle a wiff and I can't say I'm a fan of the smell, though I don't notice the smell ever when I'm using the ink. :)

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
