Favourite Diamine Ink Colour?

To date, there have been only two Diamines that pleased: Registrars & Evergreen.

Once the warmer Spring temperatures will be upon us, I'll try a few more of their colours.

*Sailor 1911S, Black/gold, 14k. 0.8 mm. stub(JM) *1911S blue "Colours", 14k. H-B "M" BLS (PB)

*2 Sailor 1911S Burgundy/gold: 14k. 0.6 mm. "round-nosed" CI (MM) & 14k. 1.1 mm. CI (JM)

*Sailor Pro-Gear Slim Spec. Ed. "Fire",14k. (factory) "H-B"

*Kaweco SPECIAL FP: 14k. "B",-0.6 mm BLS & 14k."M" 0.4 mm. BLS (PB)

*Kaweco Stainless Steel Lilliput, 14k. "M" -0.7 mm.BLS, (PB)

Ancient Copper and Twilight are my two favorites, though Apple Glory just arrived in the mail today so I am anxious to try it. Browns, blues, and greens are my preferred ink colors. My husband likes Pumpkin quite a bit.

A good topic for discussion - Diamine is my favourite ink of choice and I have some 10 different colours, including Emerald, Eclipse, Syrah, Poppy Red, Saddle Brown, Majestic Blue and Imperial Purple.

Love the 80ml bottles, such good value for money. I have tried many of the other colours mentioned, and have not been disappointed with any. Currently, I am using Emerald and Majestic Blue a lot.

 

 

Poppy Red is another one of my favourites, I like to use it when I'm marking or highlighting things.

 

 

& thanks everyone for your replies, I think I have to get the Diamine rep to have a look at this and get him to expand his colour range as all of you are getting me excited to try some colours that we don't have!!

Diamine inks have given me a lot of writing pleasure and they include some amazing colours. It would have been tough to choose my favourite among them if it weren't for Midnight Blue - a pleasant, safe colour and a wonderfully well-behaved ink.

I have about 10 Diamine inks, right now I am using two of my favorites, Ochre and Denim in my rotation pens. However, I also like Kensington Blue, Delamere Green, and Chocolate Brown.

I don't think Grape and Meadow Green have popped up yet - love the shading and freshness of the green. Also Green black for a more 'serious' ink.

Just got my very first bottle of Diamine ink in the mail today from Goulet Pens. Kept hearing about this ink on the forums, so I opted chocolate brown, as I like pairing pen color with ink color. Really wonderful ink with just enough viscosity. A true brown without any funky undertones - rich and velvety brown. :cloud9: A great replacement for Parker Penman Mocha which is no longer manufactured.

Sherwood Green just supplanted Green/Black as my favorite. Not on your list.

I guess there's not an ink that hasn't been mentioned by now...

 

I'm in for Syrah. Almost every pen (vintage or modern) I acquired in the past years got the first fill with that.

The reformulated Blue-Black is a wonderful ink too, which I forgot to mention earlier, along with their Indigo which is underrated. I prefer that one above the Prussian Blue but they are similar.

Some great colours mentioned above, many I have and enjoy using. But right at this moment Misty Blue is my current top pick.... but is closely chased by Eau de Nil. Did not notice a mention of Matador, a stunning red.

Hi,

although I prefer other ink brands over Diamine (Pilot Iroshizuku, Caran D'Ache, Pelikan Edelstein, Montblanc), stil this very old Liverpool based ink factory produces a wide range of very nice inks, both in overall quality and value for money terms. Unlike in other EU and non EU Countries, Diamine is not well known in Italy and only very few pen shops sell them, it's a pity. I've been a fountain pen user and collector for over 40 years and only last year I found a pen shop in Rome selling Diamine. Of course there is the online shops option, but in general this cannot compensate the lack of traditional distribution channels of this brand in my Country.

 

My favourites are:

 

Diamine Sargasso Sea, a very elegant dark blue, very suited for everyday use

Diamine Syrah: one of the best dark reds on the market , really recalling the Syrah wine colour.

Can it really only be me who loves Imperial Purple?

I have ten Diamine inks and my favourites are Asa Blue, Merlot, Green/Black, Twilight and Macassar.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
