I know fountainpenhospital on Warren st. I will definetly visit this store.

Art Brown International Pen store, on West 45th Street, just off 5th Avenue. There's also a Montblanc boutique on Madison Avenue in Midtown if that's your thing.

I second the motion for Art Brown Pen Shop. This is a great place with lots of fountain pens of course; they have a much larger ink selection than the otherwise excellent Fountain Pen Hospital. They have an "ink book" for all the inks in the shop that they'll let you browse through so you can see what the inks looks like on paper. They also have a wide selection of stationary, Rhodia, Clairefontaine, Quo Vadis, Moleskin & various others, & a section (somewhat dwindled lately) of calligraphy pens & accessories. Certainly a great shop to visit.

I was in NYC 3 weeks ago and made a point to go to Art Brown's (I was in mid-town, and Fountain Pen Hospital was too long a trek given my time constraints). I agree with both Maurizio and Shaporama: wonderful place, great pen selection, friendly staff, wide range of ink (the complete Iroshizuku line), paper......what more could you want? :-)

Due to my schedule, I will be driving from Nashua, New Hampshire to JFK in New York. Are any of the mention locations worth a detour into Manhattan and finding parking before my flight at 8:30pm on a Thursday? Would love to drop in but I already see many very nice pens on my 3 local B&M Stores plus those I visit in Japan.

Straits Pen Distributors and Dealers of Craft Rinkul, JB Perfect Pen Flush, Ohto Japan, Parker, Pelikan, Pilot Pen, Private Reserve Inks, Schrade Tactical Pens, Smith & Wesson Pens, Noodler's Ink LLC Pens, TWSBI Inc and Waterman in Singapore

Disclosure: I do nib work for others and am affiliated with those which do. I also sell and represent certain brands of pens.

Fountain Pen Hospital isn't just closed on Saturday but all weekend if I remember correctly. They open really early on weekdays though for those last minute gifts for the people at City Hall :D .

I'll have to agree with the above sentiments that Art Brown is one of my favourite pen stores in NYC because they have a huge selection of pens and pen related items like paper and ink. There's also Altman Luggage in the Lower East Side. They have a decent pen counter hidden in the far end of the store. Altman closes early on Fridays and all of Saturday though (owners are Jewish).

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
