Thank you, it is a very nice pen to fill, to look at, and to write with it is a pleasure. The nib is a soft, flexible, oblique italic.

My great uncle probably received it as a 40th birthday present in 1938 - it had a "rest" of about 30 years before I received it.

Is it a Canadian or US Parker Vacumatic also what would you say the colour is. I k know they made both the US and Canadian versions. This has been one of my dream pens for a while now. I've seen quite a few on eBay actually. I know one sort had a push down and lock filling system (like yours) and the other had a plastic sort of pump action filling system. But all in all a very nice pen indeed.

It is a black colour unless held to the light and it is marked with the following:

MADE IN PARKER VACUMATIC PAT. No.

CANADA REG. T. M. S. 318982 8.

It was most likely bought in Scotland but it has travelled all round the world. I prefer this original lock-down or first generation filler as it has a shorter blind cap.

These are my two favorites out of my 5 pen collection. A Moore 92 (mid 1920's ?) and an Onward (1930's-40's ?). I am not too sure about the dates.

Beautiful collection, paloma32. I particularly love the Pelikan M101N and the Phileas. My Phileas, my second fountain pen and a gift from my husband for publishing a chapter in a book, has gone to a plastic grave (in the bottom of my pen repair box) owing to a broken section. I mourn her often.

Thank you, betweenthelens. :) The M101N is my favorite pen to write with (it has pride of place in my avatar too, as you can see.) There's just something about

the Phileas...The nib on mine doesn't write that well anymore, but I still enjoy trying to use it once in a while. Belated congrats on publishing a chapter in a book--now that's permanent, even if the Phileas wasn't!

Well, I hope to have an M101N one day. I love its look and I'm sure it writes dreamily! I like your avatar as well! What happened to your Phileas' nib? What about getting it modified? Thank you for the congratulations. Never belated in my "book." ;) I went to Asia in 1998, and upon my return, a professor at a university asked me to write a chapter on the children of Nepal for an academic book by multiple authors about teen life in Asia. In fact, that was the title, too. It wasn't well-received at all but I was pretty happy to have been published and I did my best.

Here are all my Cross, Pelikans, Parkers and others:

I had my pens all over the place, some in their boxes. The other day, I decided to make room in my bookshelf and display all of them. My wife has since recovered from her shock.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
